Assumptions about Servers?

So as we are aware, after the patch update only Laima remains.
But I have also heard it’s switching between 1 and 3 for certain people.
Since there was no official update about how many servers would be used in the 2nd beta (that im aware of, correct me if I’m wrong), was the community only going based off of assumptions since there were 3 servers listed? Also do you think the servers might have been merged? How about multichannels?

Just for some discussion in the meantime.

Yeah,I would hope they have a lot of channels planned if it’s just going to be Laima.Otherwise it’s going to be a rough time for a lot of us…

I believe channels are dynamically generated for each map, so if a certain map is popular, it will have more channels compared to less popular maps.

They could be taking the server down and doing what is called a hard stress test before running the game. So they don’t have them crash right on launch. Just an idea.

I’m all for it and actually hope that’s the case.I think people are just worried because they haven’t seen the other 2 in a while.

Hopefully the server isn’t something like this:

Then all is good. Not putting too much hope on one server to handle the large amount of players going in and out especially during the masses logging in but we’ll soon find out once the server opens. Gonna wait around 30 mins or so before I can finally go inside.

Melooooon! I agree. I’m not sure of the pros and cons of having multichannels. I feel like it’s more beneficial from my current knowledge.

@Kiyoshiro That’s good to know. I wasn’t aware of that. But it does make sense.

@I3Link Ideas are all everyone’s going on right now (:. That’s a good guess honestly.

just play the game!! wait for it to open!!! my gawd!

Doxy! :sparkles:

When they added more testers to the first group, they actually added a lot of channels to accommodate them.It was too many for the number of testers we had,but if we did that this time it’d work fairly well I think.

Literally why I made this thread if you didn’t read it.
It’s to talk about it in the meantime while we’re waiting.

i cant wait!!! few more hours!!!

I do like this a lot but fear it more then anything else. Really just a few hour and the server go up. There seem to be nothing else to do besides run stat calc and skill calc for the next few hour…or this

Oh nice! I wasn’t in the first beta so that’s good to know. So channels are pretty likely to be a thing if it pans out that way. Also, having more channels than needed is fine in my book haha. I’d rather have more than enough than not enough. Of course, if that’s the case I’m sure most channels would be filled or close to filled with the amount of people in this beta :fearful:. I have hope in IMC, though. I’m sure they know what they’re doing.

really good idea makes sense, since we are helping them test ever aspect of the game out from server to in game content.

I think they made it 1 server so that ingame GMs can moderate easier and to test the amount of players they can handle which is the exact point of this beta test.

And no more server picking dilemma

That’s actually another really interesting point. That’s definitely a possibility as well. Right after I read this though, I thought about how they have three GMS for this beta.

Three GM’s = Three servers? Illuminati confirmed.
