Assuming R10 is final, which classes have viable combinations to go "3-3-3-1"?

I came to realized something after I started playing my 2nd character… (I refused to create a 2nd character due to how time consuming this game is but in the end, I did it and my 2nd character is now my main as I got sick of my 1st character.)

My first character was a cleric and it always bothered me why I have to pick 1 or 2 ranks of certain classes just for their “utility”… I wanted a Monk3 but then reset into C2-P1-Pala3-Mok1 for Inq, but then there are also some builds that recommend extreme combination like “2-1-1-1-1-1-3” to be effective like CL2-P1-Diev1-Monk1-Ora1-Kabba1-Inq3. All those ranks after cleric2 is basically filler ranks just for Inquisitor3.

I stopped playing my cleric and now main my swordsman who is SW3>Cata3>Goon3… I realized I enjoy playing it so much more than my cleric.

Every rank up feels like a real upgrade instead of just picking skills for utility. I feel excited to pursue the next rank in anticipation of unlocking a better Trot/earthwave or unlocking my Cata3 skill, Rush.

So I realized why I am enjoy my SW3>Cata3>Goon2 so much more and it had to do with class combinations. Even on my cleric who is 2-1-3-1-3 build, it still feels like I am picking filler classes just for utility and I dislike this style.

Now what are some viable class combinations that can go “3-3-3-1”?

Pyro3/Link3/Sage3/? >>>>>>>>>>>

This is an interesting question and I’d like to hear what other people think too. I have a thing for taking my classes to C3, I like the feel of the progression.

I haven’t actually played in a while but from what I remember some viable(?) ones might be (in the future):

Sw3->Rode3->Shino->Murm3
Sw1->Pelta3->Rode3->Murm3
Wiz3->Ele3->WL3(?)->?
Wiz1->Cryo3->Chrono3->Sage3
Archer3->QS3->Falconer->Hakka3

I guess I’m okay with dips though as long as there’s some C3 progressions. For example, Sw3->Pelt1->Sair1->Fencer3->?. But that 2-1-1-1 cleric build you were talking about definitely irks me. IIRC, clerics and archers rarely go past C2 in their base class, which doesn’t help.

That’s already R10 at Sage 3

Even the base class has to be C3? That would lock a lot of ranks out

3-3-3-1:

  • Sword 3 > Cata 3 > Goon 2+
  • Sword 3 > Hop 3 > Goon 2+
  • Wiz 3 > Ele / Kino 3 > Lock 2+
  • Wiz 3 > Linker / Kino 3 > Feather 2+
  • Archer 3 > Scout / Wugushi 3 > Cannon / Musk 2+
  • Cleric 3 > Diev 3 > PD / Kabba 2+
  • Cleric 3 > Priest 3 > Kabba 2+

With exception to base class:

X-3-3-3-X:

  • Sword 2 > Barb 3 > Doppel 3 > X 3
  • Sword 1 > Pelt 3 > Rod 3 > Murm 1+
  • Wiz 2 > Kino 3 > Chrono 3 > X 3
  • Wiz 1 > Cryo / Pyro 3 > Chrono / Linker 3 > Enchanter / Sage 1+
  • Archer 2 > Ranger / QS 3 > Reiter 3 > X 3
  • Archer 2 > Hunter / Sapper 3> Falcon 3 > X 3
  • Archer 1 > Ranger 3 > Fletch 3 > Mergen / Hacka 1+
  • Cleric 2 > Kriv / Diev 3 > Druid / Ora 3 > X 3
  • Cleric 1 > Kriv 3 > Diev 3 > Tao 1+

Not saying these are all perfect, but I think they’re “viable”

No wonder I am enjoying SW3>Cata3>Goon3 the most. It does seems like Swordies benefit the most from SW3 due to longer duration pain barrier and restraint. Even 2/5 Double Slash is a really good filler skill against monsters weak to slash!

Cleric 3 I can imagine cure15 being absolute beast against stationary mutant/devil bosses but yeah… I think most people would pick cleric2>priest1 over cleric3…

I am glad to know I am not the only one feeling this way towards the class-rank combinations! Just like you said, it is definitely the progression and being able to realize the class itself to it’s fullest potential that gives me a sense of fulfillment!

My Cleric2-priest1-pala3-monk1-inq1 just doesn’t feel right. If there is another reset in the future, I will think twice before resetting my cleric again. In the meantime, my SW3>Cata3>Goon2 is my main and I’m having an absolute blast with it! I can’t imagine playing the game without a mount + trot15 now… Everything feels so slow on my cleric and I just can’t go back… (Hmmm I might just reset my cleric into Cleric2>priest1>diev1>monk3>something-that-isn’t-inq3… I really want a class that isn’t inquisitor to go with the Monk3… Inquisitor playstyle simply feels in conflict with monk3 and better off with a paladin3)

Why hypothesize over trivial matters.
Don’t worry about tomorrow when today has its own set of issues to face.

IMC needs to fix R1-R8 bugs/balances/nerfs/buffs/crashes before they should work on R9…

Forget about R10.
Better to have no expectations than to be IMC’ed

Final Rank (for Open Beta) is either 11 or 12, since they promised 80 Classes, which would require 10 Ranks with new Classes every Rank. Since we can assume that every non-hidden Class has 3 Circles, the Ranks required to fulfill this are either 11 or 12.

Since the developers are currently working on new Classes for Rank 9, we can be sure that it’s at least 11 Ranks (Rank 9 330-380, Rank 10 380-430, Rank 11 430-480 or higher if they increase the baselevel range per Rank to 60 in between), but if they decide to make Rank 10 Classes also to fill the 80 Classes, it will be 12 Ranks.

There’s no base to think Rank 10 would be the last one actually (unless IMC ends the game developement prematurely)…

If rank 12 is indeed the final rank, 3-3-3-3 sounds perfect to me!

Thanks for the information and clarification about rank10 not being the last rank though!

Base Classes = 4
Each Rank = 8 so R2 - R10 = 72

Hidden Classes = 5

That already makes 81

Cleric 2 -> priest 3 -> diev 3 -> kabba 1 -> inquish 1

The hidden Classes don’t count towards the total count, though xD

Most effective with 11 Ranks would be Cl2>Dievdirbys3>Oracle3>Kabbalist3.
could nuke most monsters instantly if their calculated number is equal or greater than 2, or 4 if it’s a Bossmonster. Bad thing is that the CD time is too long to be effective enough for monster groups <_<

IMC needs to do sth about their extreme CD times if a class has only 1 or 2 damage skills…
