No. Priest is a fairly desirable class. As long as you’re going full SPR, stoneskin is really good. You can get priest c3 and then go for other classes if you want. Going pardoner for the money is a pretty common build.
Why would I spr for dps builds?
Because the good Priest skills scale off of SPR. Priest isn’t really a DPS class.
Lolwut. There is like 2 buffs that scale off of spr? And one of them (aspersion) also scales heavily off of int. Everything thats magic attack scales with int even if the skill itself had a poor spr scaling ratio.
I swear these forums have already made enough spr chaplains to be their stone skin bots. Its not useless but most people who pick chaplain pick it for its dps thats nice for a support class.
Edit: also monstrance scales with spr. I believethis buff also falls of heavily for late game for its flat values.
So you already caught that Monstrance scales of SPR. Because it’s scaling, it is by definition not flat. I’m not really sure how good it is, but it won’t completely fall off. Pretty sure Aspersion has a 1-1 SPR scaling Ratio, which is the same as Matk. Deprotected Zone also scales with SPR, and as you mentioned Stone Skin. Mass Heal also scales equally with SPR and INT. The main thing is, there aren’t really any Priest skills that scale ONLY with Matk? Like, sure, heal and cure. But you’re gonna give up OP Stone Skin for some extra Heal and Cure DPS? I mean, feel free, but that seems silly to me.
Don’t forget Int gets the 10% increase per rank. Meaning if 1 person puts 500 int and the other person puts 500 spr. Its comes out as 850 vs 500 at rank 7.
Priest/chaplain
Int scales with cure(this scales twice 1 from int and 1 cause it magical),heal, aspersion, mass heal and Aspergillum
Spr scales with Stone skin, deprotect zone, monstrance, aspersion and aspergillum
But don’t forget for rank 7 most people will go PD or Kabba which scale better wtih Int as well. (thats only if you want to do dmg)
if you want to be a full/best buffer go spr. If you want dmg with buffs go int.
I’m going Cleric>Priest 3>Chaplain>Krivis> PD so going Krivis i want int (zaibos scales twice as well)
