Armor type for support?

Hi I’m making priest3 cleric2 chaplain plague doctor and i’m still at low level and I’ve been wearing leather armor. And I’m going 3 SPR : 1 CON build which I’m loving. So I’ll naturally get tons of sp and sp regen along with tons of magic defense from the SPR stats so that’s taken care of there fore I will NOT need cloth armor. Now it’s down to leather and plate. It seems like most people are going plate for physical damage mitigation. But doesn’t it make sense to go leather for evasion when you can just flat out dodge physical attacks and knockbacks? I know that you can’t evade magic attacks but I’ve already gotten that taken care of.

Is leather viable for level 200+ dungeons?

Dodge gets effected by the monster stats, so unless you have high dex I don’t think it will do you much good. It’s more the extra HP from plate that people go for.

Robe for damage, Plate for HP. Defenses are a joke and leather useless for anything whiout extreme DEX.

If you are wondering why i sayd robe for damage isnt about the atribute, is just that the parts whit ele damage/amplification/stats happen to be robe.

Plate should definitely be your go-to default armor. Healing skills all scale with maxHP which favors plate.

Btw, SPR alone doesn’t do much for magical damage mitigation. On that note, most Clerics just compensate for it by having high maxHP to out heal the damage with.

I changed all my armor to plate. I didn’t know you need high dex for leather to be effective. I think that’s a poor game design because then there is no reason to use leather armor even if you have high dex.

It’s more of combination of leather mastery being the weakest of the 3 (flat bonus, and only one bonus) and that you requires exponentially higher evasion to dodge the same rate, whereas with plate you can stack up enough defense to literally takes 1 damage even from high level mobs.

You can use cloth gloves for magic amplification and the other three parts plate, you still get the HP bonus and 5% physical dmg diminished. Four plate set gets you extra Stamina and more 5% physical dmg diminished (for a total of 10%).

However, as Chaplain you might get more benefits from the plate gloves cause they will give you accuracy, helping you hit as you probably will have low accuracy as Chaplain is not a DEX focused build.

Nonono stop talking BS. defense work fixed. it means, if boss nuke you for 2k phisycal damage and you have 200def he gonna hit you for 1800. THATS A AWESOME 10%!!! and that famous 15% from 4 pieces means 15% of ur current def, if you have 200 it adds 30.

WAW 30 damage reduction OP OP OP.

get plate if you want the almost 2k extra hp, is the only reason.
