Updated for day 3
Day1
Well, I managed to get to circle 2 Cleric and up to Crystal Mine (i think it’s called) before I had to go to work >,< but I thought I’d post a few things I’ve noticed about the game so far. I mightn be able to play at work, I can at least post :3
First impressions of the controller gameplay were pretty positive. It’s fast and easy to pick up, and while I will probably be creating a custom map for it in the future, the default setup is certainly doable.
The first boss was super hard for me XD, I did NO damage, he spawned a million mobs, and AOE! And, anddd… ToT
But I managed to beat him first time. I think that was an awesome! Introduction to boss fights. Later on throughout the starting zones, there are more bosses and it’s a good thing to because they are pretty fun. Except the boss in crystal mine with the flocks of bats which I can’t touch because all my damage is in ground tile form >.<
The art of the game does tend to give me a blury impression. Like a watercolour painting almost. Kinda haven’t gotten use to watching it yet.
Umm what else… I can see there are some aspects of the game which they have tried to polish pretty nice. I find talking to NPCs and picking up and completing quests is not painful at all, quite smooth actually.
Well, thats my first glance anyway, if you have any questions about the game in general like gameplay or feel, then fire away.
Day2
Got another 10lvls today before work. The constant lvling up seems to be slowing down now due to quest zones being higher than my lvl, I searched around and it seems that there aren’t any alternate areas to do more quests or to grind so the choice seems to be now to grind a couple of low maps or tuff it out in the hard ones until my lvl increases a bit. (Currently 25)
The boss fights are thhe thing that I seem to be looking forward to the most and I’ve been searching all the areas for more bosses however the AI is becomming a bit tiresome, with similar easilly avoidable patterns coming up in the encounters.
The lack of easy exp or quests made me go back to the main town and really have a good look at my attribute options and what I could do to increase my damage in the way of UG and gems ect… The gem system looks pretty interesting, hopefully I get some slotted gear soon.
I’ve been taking heeps of screenies, I’ll probably be writing a big review and including some of the more interesting ones in it after the beta is over.
Day 3
Today I got to lvl29 Cleric [about 4lvls], quite a bit of slowing down exp, the unpredictable exp mechanics are weird. It basically works like killing high lvl mobs, even in a party, gibes crap exp. But going solo and nuking a group of low lvl trash gives you heaps more. A lot of other people seem to be thinking their exp is weird too so at least I know it’s not just me bein noobie.
At the rate the lvling is slowing I can’t really test more Cleric until the exp is increased
(Probably wouldn’t get to Sadhu before the end) so I decided to make some other classes to test. Trying an archer to see if my Cleric was just a really bad lvler XD
The crafting system looks interesting, you can access a heap of crafting type windows when you sit down (in rest mode). There’s gem enhancement where you basically stick low gems togeather to make stronger ones. There’s a card window, where tou can stick cards togeather to lvl up your cards lvl O.o
My impression of day 3 is pretty good still, the game shows a lot of depth in gear customisation and upgrading. One thing all the grinding made clear, is that even melee need to jump hit to keep optimal movement going while mobbing up stuff and boss fighting… Really dislike how attacking sticks you inplace unless you jump.
I’ve been seeing some familiar names feom the forum lvling around
