Are you guys for real? Gem drops when you die?

Seriously? Who thought this is good? The game lags a lot, when you decide to come back, the mob will kill you and you’ll lose all your level 4+ gems because you never explained in the first place that they drop from the character when he dies.

What an obnoxious, useless system.

Well looks like someone didn’t read his help logs when he first entered crystal mines.

They do tell you it does that, when you pick up your first Gem.

They don’t, press F10 and see the help and you’ll see that there’s nothing there about them dropping when you die (and they are the help logs that the game shows).

Trust me, I read EVERYTHING in this game. It’s an obsession.

To be fair, gems are extremely plentiful. You don’t even need that many. 6 equip slots: top, bottom, shoe, glove, right hand, left hand. So that makes 12 gems. You don’t need more unless you trade them away in the marketplace. If you upgrade your gems, just put it in storage. If you slot them in your gear, just pull them back out when you want it back.

I’m not sure why they get dropped. It doesn’t seem to serve much of a purpose. I’m just saying it’s not that big of a deal to lose gems.

Ah, then I’ll apologize, I’ve known about it for a long time now I automatically assumed the help menu is where I got that info. If they don’t mention it then that’s definitely something they need to explain at some point. If not in the Gem explanation than at least as an explanation of death penalties.

Except it it when they are level 4.

It’s a shitty system. Since you can’t acquire gems from the marketplace

I think it made for a priest class to be little more important.

They drop before you can even do anything.

In my case, I was promptly transported outside the Tenet Chapel, without the prompt that asks if you want to resurrect with iCoin or the closest point. It simply shoved me off the place and it probably dropped all the gems.

store them maybe? that seems like the easiest solution instead of complaining

The point is, I would if I had any gem left.

And the point of the post is to make them aware that it’s a shitty system that should be removed or at least informed when you play the game. It’ll make people complain a lot when they die because of lag (like my case).

Oh, they explain that gems drop from your character in the “Ressurrection” help.

Forget what I said, completely my fault for not noticing this.

Still a pretty shitty and useless system.

I agree the system seems rather useless and unnecessary to begin with since you can’t even really trade the gems to begin with, so whats the point in it? Other than to piss people off, of course.

I didn’t notice because it was the first time I died, the ressurrection screen help probably didn’t even show for me.

I kind of think there needs to be more of a penalty for death (maybe even so far as the old lost xp method). I do agree though that more of a heads up could be useful, maybe just a ‘will be dropped on death’ bit of text on unsocketed gems.

On a side note, you apparently have a lot better luck with gem drops than I do if you dropped some level 4s in the chapel. So grats on that…I have 2 60+ chars now and neither one is close to one level 4 gem.

Sh*t happens sometimes that’s why there is the storage manager in town.

lol you dont lose xp
but you do lose equipment durability. if that helps

Doesnt really matter for me  i got lot of icoins in my bag so…
can’t wait to die

I simply upgraded my gems to level 4 with loots.
