Are they going to do anything about the auto-attack afk leveling?

Literally see Swordmen everywhere afk leveling.

They are in every friggin place, lol.

Its bad enough that swordmen are pretty much the op meta class, but they can also afk kill stuff their own level just by afk auto attacking in one place on respawn.

Every single swordman is doing it, and its getting annoying for other classes to level and compete with this.

do you even get much exp from it? seems minimal to me

Its actually a great way to level from 70 to 85~90 in the masoleum.

Swordmen of any kind just stand in place and afk level all day with little to no effort.

I’d imagine its possible to level that way through all the content, given that you know the apropriate places to do so.

ic, think the problem here tho is that there is no exp penalty to death
death penalty in this game is pretty damn light so killing them… say… by spawning a high lv mob… isnt really a discouragement.

Imo tho its not rly efficient. At demon prison i barely get like 1-2% in a group of 5 by killing about 100 mobs.

You don’t die doing this. The goal is to find a place where monsters don’t naturally aggro to you, and you can kill them with auto attacks before they hit you.

Then you just put a rock on your keyboard and go to bed/work while you grind.

Actually, a good to level from 70 to 90 is doing all the quests available to you, like a normal person would do.
Anyways, I’m sure you didn’t do any research before writing this post, as there are already PLENTY of others just like yours and there is also lots of info about what they might be planning to do against this anti-play mechanic.

Um, I’m a swordman class 161 and I have never done it…its stupid and noobish and you can’t get any satisfaction leveling like that.

Also, they should just get rid of attacking while button is held down. Make them hit it repeatably to attack. Problem solved.

or better just put a simple random respawn all over the map =.="

Dunno.
Someone said people did the same thing in granado espada and was never patched.

Maybe they could add a system to provide penalty to both xp and drop when you grind for an hour or so on a certain map.

I would suggest something like, if you hold down the attack button and sit in place for more than 60 seconds, monsters drop giving exp and drops!

Plus, if they kill a blue mob… They will receive a huge EXP, but most important, they will be taking the opportunity of someone who is actually playing.

Err, no. That’s totally counterproductive. At higher levels you need to kill thousands of mobs to level up. And that’s going to definitely take more than 1 hour, and there are definitely people who will really grind for longer than that.

I utterly disagree with your proposed solution.

Umm, these guys will stay in one place and grind like that for hours, like 10 hours a day.

All my wizzards can do the same and my friend do it with his archers, the only one who could have problems to do it could be an int healer class I guess. So I don’t really think it is a HUGE problem.

or maybe they can adjust the time per map-level. Say on low level maps its 1 hour on high level maps a couple of more hours, I mean there are other maps you can do grinding anyways and I think people don’t stay on one map for a couple of hours with out their armors/weapon breaking/or needing to repot so the moment they leave the map it resets the timer anyway.

I am just up for anything to stop people from 24/7 afk auto-attacking.

I actually like the Grimm Reaper idea. OFC I have problems with it though, I was reading that it only spawns if someone kills 1000 mobs (or something like that) TBH that’s really lenient. I think if that Reaper idea would be more productive if it spawns because someone is attacking without moving for a certain amount of time VS the how many mobs killed. When we’re grinding we move while we do so (most of us do at least) If the Reaper spawns right on top of them within 10 mins of afk killing, smack the Reaper then boom dead.

Another option would be, the infamous AFK Question. A lot of games that I’ve played had math question to prevent afking in field areas. If you didn’t answer within a certain amount of time it would tele you back to the city.

Dead & Bloody Branch from RO just came into my mind. (Do wonders against bots and such.)

Ha that would be amazing.
