Are the servers seriously going LIVE in 2 weeks?

@STAFF_Ines @STAFF_J @STAFF_Ethan @STAFF_John @Staff_Julie @STAFF_Shawn

To whom it may concern;

It has come to my attention and probably to the attention of most every "player" in this game that there are major issues that need to be addressed prior to the release of Tree of Savior (Eng. Version)

What I want to address are things you already know and these things are of course, hacking, botting, account duping, etc.

Now I ask you imagine when the game becomes free to play; what will the bots do? Run and hide? will the bots continue to do what they have been doing? Will there be no contest? How will the servers be optimized, sorted, and dealt with.

Don’t get me wrong IMC I really do enjoy this game(without lag), I’ve played alot of hours. What, may I ask, will be the assurances given to its players and clientele that the servers will be ready and the servers will be able to handle the mob of new players when the game goes live on April 28th.

I’m going to say this right now, and I’m not trying to advocate a rumor or anything, but if IMC ends up going against their word on not doing a complete wipe of everything the day the game goes live to the public, I hope they at least take the work everyone has done into account and furnish some kind of recompense in the form of an EXP Tome that’ll restore all levels to our characters, and a grand silver bullion to refill our coffers.

Because from what I’ve been reading, the economy of this game has already gone beyond haywire.

The economy of the servers didn’t really suffer at all. The exploiters didn’t generate silver, they got it from other players by selling ā€œinfiniteā€ tokens.

Therefor, the silver on the servers is still the same, tho some players got more silver than they’ll spend in a few years playing the game (easy to trace and ban it imo).

The ones trashing the economy are bots and goldsellers, they generate silver and cause inflation.

I mean I get what you guys are saying but just imagine new players enter a game and they try to quest, hunt for items or ANYTHING and they get beaten out by bots/hackers that teleport to the monster or better yet they shoot blade beams from across the entire screen and take those quest mobs/ farm mobs from them.

What will happen to the future of the game. That’s my concern. These issues we are having are current and I am hoping IMC is dealing with it. However what I’m more worried about is the future proofing, the grander scheme of things. Is there no 1,2,3 to 5 year plan?

I want more than a half a**ed statement saying; ā€œwe are doing our best for your supportā€.

I want some concrete evidence on why I; a paying and ready to support customer should stay and continue to persevere through all of this.
It’s also something I’m sure many of the players planning on playing this game for more than a few months or less are curious and eager to know.

My hypothesis is that, lacking the requirement of obtaining stolen credit card numbers to exploit illegal chargebacks on for founder access, many additional RMTers who lack access/do not wish to pay for stolen credit card number packages will enter the scene.

What that means is a massive increase in bot numbers. That’s my prediction. It will get so bad IMC will be forced to do something drastic or the game will fail. Not ā€œfailā€ as you see on the forums, but really, actually fail, as the channels fill with bots to such an extent that normal players can no longer play the game below level 100.

There will be sweeping IP blocks. I can tell you that much - regions pertaining both to countries and well known proxy networks. Unless, of course, they have an ace up their sleeve.

Would be great if people stopped tagging the staff for every single post they make.

They are going to get tired of being constantly tagged for everything and simply start ignoring it.

Yes there are bots.
Yes they know.
Yes they are thinking in ways to fix it.
Yes they are (for now) listening to players.

This is not the only games with bots, and IMC has shown so far to care way more than other MMOs i have played.

Recently they implemented a level requirement for megaphones and are thinking in lift some trade limitations.

But people on this forum act as if bots were exclusive of ā€˜Tree of Savior’ and as if IMC doesn’t care (which obviously and actively do).

No MMO has come with a permanent way to deal with bots. If there was, bots wouldn’t exist in the first place.

no there better not be a mass character wipe, they told us a head of time their not wiping. i did not put in this many hours in beta and in now to have my stuff erased. cause if they do it is not worth doing again that is way to much work to wipe is NOT the answer. to much work to toss out. they just need to track down hackers and botters and ban them hell even their ip and computer addresses everything. other wise it will just keep happening. obviously that’s not the easy route but i don’t think everyone should pay for the % of people who hack and cheat. that’s like cutting down the tree cause there is rotten apples at its base.

No. No where did we state that bots are exclusive to ToS. We are iterating that there are and will be more when it goes f2p. Also we have a right to ask the staff we risked our time and money; some paid more than others, I myself paid 90. So don’t antagonize people that care and want to hear something from the staff.

I understand that they did certain good things. Never did I state they didn’t.
You assume I’m doing nothing but saying negative things.
I don’t complain about much about this game. I do however make fun of some things but usually not complain until recently; when certain statements of a said system that was created seem flawed or just ā€œcrowd please-rsā€ and actually did nothing aka ā€œbot reportā€ button.

Other than that this thread was created to ask for some sort of assurance from IMC. God knows; I’m not the only one that needs one right now.

They can create a background program that logs computers information; name; and installs a sort of backlog or record of the computer using it.
If found hacking/cheating the computer itself can be locked out. IF the hackers want to cheat again they will need to reinstall their OS.

you don’t know enough about computers if you think this would actually work.

any kind of background program that logs the computer info: hello ā€œinvasion of privacyā€ lawsuit. even if it’s harmless, people will freak out and call it spyware or worse. that said, any kind of program and data that has been installed on the computer can be almost as easily uninstalled by a moderately skilled user.

for that matter, they’ve got handfuls, dozens, even hundreds of computers all botting at once, and like a couple of guys just wandering around the room watching them… and any monkey can keep clicking ā€œnextā€ to reinstall their pirated copies of windows, if somehow that came to be the easier way to remove the ā€œbuggingā€ software.
…

there are threads posted every day, about exactly this topic, all crying ā€œbut i’m special, i want better promises than what you announced in the news pages!ā€ and you’re not going to get it. when they have announcements, they’ll posted them publicly in the NEWS section, like they have each time so far.

-if- anyone had the free time to come and post in these threads, the best you’d get is a reiteration of what the news posts already say.
…

and just saying; the servers aren’t -going- live in 2 weeks. they already ARE live. this is it. this is the ā€œreleaseā€ version we’re starting with. because the community at large (or at least, at loud) demanded the game sooner rather than later, and immediately rather than sooner. so now IMC is rushing around trying to finish all those little background details they were trying to finish, as well as dealing with all the problems that suddenly adding 10’s of thousands of players to the servers created.

and the fact that the servers -are- live is another reason why they aren’t going to wipe.

Also, don’t forget. The game enters OPEN BETA in 2 weeks, not release.

They cant say it all be good.
They even say it will be bad that why they did the premium month.

There is no open beta. Imc didnt do opent beta for the international. Tge one andconly ever open beta was and over in korea.
Stop saying this retarded bs.

are you trolling, or do you just not read what is literally right above your post?

Yeah sorry didn’t saw that post, and its mb.

BUT, please keep on being rude and read this @lans1234567890

Wrote by staff, for players, stating that it IS an early access of an OPEN BETA.

Once again sorry @tzxazrael i really didn’t saw your post ^^’

People always seem to forget this.

yea, my bad too, i get a little frustrated with all the misinformation everyone keeps repeating here on the forums. and that’s not even counting the deliberate trolling and s***-posting. sorry for being a bit snappy.

that said, regarding that link mentioned, it turns out the date that they announced for OBT was…
ā€œNEVER, NOT EVER, MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAā€ or something

Lol they think tagging the staff into their post make themself any more important. Little did they know IMC is starting to ignore the game for now.
Way too many bots for them to keep banning constantly. The report bot function is pretty much a white elephant now like any other mmos.

What worries me the most for f2p release is the servers capacity and the queues for dungeons/missions. It’s already hell now, what will it be in 2 weeks x_x

This is also a huge concern, unless they plan to expand the server atleast 10-30x when they go live. Also spawn rates, fighting for things unless of course they add a ton of channels.
