Are purchasable costumes even confirmed?

As the title asks , are costume available for purchase? since there’s a costume function I assume there will be one , but I haven’t seen them release any information on the kinds of costumes we’ll be getting.

Hopefully its not just costumes from higher classes or other classes.

Also since it’s going to be on Steam , any chance that we’ll be able to create content(costumes) for the game too?

I’m actually hoping for costumes that somehow change the animation of skills.
No I don’t want them to have added effects.
I just want maybe a change in particle effects or something that references the costume itself?

Also will some costumes be class locked? (hopefully not)

and finally , if we do purchase costumes I REALLY hope its permanent.

I don’t think there’s any official information on purshasable cash shop costumes yet, although it’d be pretty weird if there weren’t any in the future.

Anyway, about them being class-locked, this is just speculation but if you take a look here you can see there are some items listed as [Gender] Costume [Number], which don’t seem to belong to any known class but are divided per base class (Swordsman, Archer, Wizard, Cleric). There’s many of these specially for Archer and Swordsman. [Gender] Costume [1] is the base costume for their respective Class/Gender, and then you have the rest which are variations. So yeah, all of this is just speculation but you can see where it’s going. I don’t believe those costumes belong to any new unreleased classes because if you take a hard look you notice quickly how they are all based on the basic class clothes. I don’t really know either how they plan to use these, if at all. They could very well be abandoned designs (unlikely).

I also like your idea of some cash shop costumes having special visual effects and animations, for skills or just as a social tool. I’m positive this will be a thing based solely on the existence of the cosmetic sub-weapons that already come with animations (and even sounds) that add nothing gameplay wise, but are just fun to use.

I’m so naive I had forgotten a lot of F2P MMOs have timed cash shop costumes… I’m too used to being treated with decency as a customer I guess. So yes, a thousand times this.

PS: I just remembered the costume system in RO2LotS where there are two types of costumes. Both are permanent but one type comes with stats and slots you can only get from RNG gachapon. I trust IMC to avoid this formula but it’s still quite troubling.

I’m not really sure that the devs will add extra animations for already existing skills (they already have a lot of work for the first years)… But adding some visual effects, related to the costumes, can be a good idea.
As a social tool too (+1 Alkaid).

Yeah, because we don’t have the /dance command, we need a dancer costume with a dance skill :stuck_out_tongue:

Or maybe they could make the costume permanent , but the special actions on the costume/ particle effects/ change to animation it brings is timed and needs to be …replenished >_>

EDIT: Another idea is , binding special emoticons for costumes, for example a special kiss gesture for any one wearing a bride and groom costume for wedding?

First thing to do then: make an interesting wedding system

Sadly every time i click there , it says web page unavailable , my ISP probably being bitchy

The forums flips out a-plenty on their own, too.

Here’s how it goes.

Q. Is anything confirmed?
A. Not even ToS being released is confirmed, they can in theory cancel it.
(this is incredibly far-fetched, but it’s just to clarify a point)

Q. Steam Workshop for ToS?
A. There’s been no word for this, but I highly doubt this will happen.
It would greatly reduce the amount ToS gains from the game.
Especially considering this is one of the most non-P2W (by common opinion) ways to fund the game.
Remember, player-made items can vary heavily in quality/price.
It can easily undermine ToS’s own cosmetics and pricing.

Q. Will there even be cash shop costumes?
A. Probably. It’d be quite a feat if they somehow had no cash shop cosmetics while keeping cosmetic variety in the game.

Q. Other things?
A. Who knows. Maybe. Maybe not. Make a suggestion about it if it’s not a thing later.

Hm, about steam workshop for ToS , i mean they could just take the designs , and sell them , that and pay a bit of royalty to the contributor.

I mean its been done before like with Dota 2’s workshop created stuff…then again Dota 2 is was made and operated by valve so there isn’t any third party to pay…

Still its added content that they didn’t need to use time and money to produce? maybe release them in packs bi or tri-monthly?
