Arde Dagger sprite similar to main gauche problem

So… I know that we deal with this since the closed beta, people always did this but at least we could see people’s nickname back when the market was better …cof. Is it really necessary that a dagger, crucial as the arde dagger, has the exact same sprite as a ordinary dagger like main gauche ? C’mom IMC… At least block every single variation of equipment’s name when naming a item…

Arde Dagger has a purple background…That one wasn’t even named correctly.

Theses people that want to be babysitted…

Gotta try real hard to be that dense to successfully buy one of these though.

Name too long
Level req
This player didnt even attempt to fake the stats.
More over, player written info is stated as [Memo] if he did attempt that.

“cheap arde, with lots of physical attack!” -Dense player.

lol, just type in searching arde dagger. PROFIT

I love how in game people are still talking about it but on the forums where we could do something about it and change the arde dagger sprite, people don’t seems to want to help.

There are higher priorities atm, and you have to be really stupid to fall on that.

players that don’t know english still fall for that scam anyway

It is not even a language barrier issue, if you hover your cursor on top of the item you can see that it’s different…:S

Karacha Dagger is suffering from the same. Actually, many items are like this.

Although you have obvious ways to check it, I also think we don’t have any reason to allow people to write in the same line as the item name. I just don’t think it’s worth the trouble.

Honestly…
the real name even stands in brackets.
It is not purple.
It doesn’t have additional stats.

HOW could a thinking person EVER mistake that for the real thing?!
If you really fell for that, then sry, you deserve to.

(and no, I didn’t post any renamed items on the AH)

There are people who play drunk, tired of work, tired of exams or need to play while doing something else and etc, i was super tired of work and when i saw the sprite of the arde dagger and 300k i was almost, almost just compelled to click the buy icon without even checking, so yeah, it can happen and it happens to a lot of people and this is still a topic on the global chat, of people almost buying this dagger. I can’t help to think that people that say “There are higher priorities atm” or “only stupid people fall for that” are the people that benefit from the lack of caution and care with the players base when making the game.

Well I’m still pro Darwinism. Not every system must be made idiot or drunk-proof.

If you were, then you would draw a conclusion that the game/system needs to evolve enough so the user don’t have to fight against it. The simple change of sprite would prevent “idiots” as you call humans of buying something-made to trick because of the lack of seeing that some people just like to scam, but yeah, leave it, the game is perfect as it is, right.

You should rather ask imc to stop being lazy and recycling sprites.
This has nothing to do with you being drunk and unable to distinguish an Arde Dagger from a Main Gauche.

You can accidentially sell your top gear or much needed materials when tired or drunk. You can bet your card in a card game. You can go fight a boss with your best gems in your inventory. Or you can buy headgear for stats you don’t even need.

As liantis said, not everything needs to be drunk-proof.

Why would I think the game is perfect? Did I write that? Did you just try to paint me as a stereotypical fanboy here? Ehm, no? Nice try?

I like the naming function and don’t see the need to delete it, because there might be people who don’t read, or are drunk.
Why do I have to suffer for their stupidity?

I’d rather see those idiots die out or adapt.
If 300.000 silver managed to make anyone smarter, I think that person just made the deal of his lifetime.

This has nothing to do with being lazy, but with being economical.

The company isn’t Blizzard. They’re a small and new development team. Sprites do take work. Making one more sprite may not be much, but it does take time and money to create. And if you start with one, you’d have to continue with so many. It adds up.

Surprisingly, artists don’t just snap their fingers and a new artwork pops up.

That’s time and money that is better invested elsewhere for now.

(Also keep in mind that they still have 400+ levels and 3 circles to fill with content like new maps, mobs, equipment, materials, skills, etc.)

For the record, I don’t think that imc should put more investment in the items sprites.
I’d rather have them fixing the many broken things in the game.
And so far, the artistic direction is one of the few things that I really like in ToS

This is seriously not an issue big enough to be corrected for now. Not only is the background different but the name has main gauche on it…The only way that you’d be fooled by that is when you’re drunk or blind or whatever.

tip: hover over the item…-_-
