Archers- What the different between

bows and crossbows? the only thing i learn is that crossbows i have to be closer to shoot them and bow i can stay far

Crossbows are one-handed, so you can also equip an off-hand item, like a shield, a knife or a shovel. Also there are skills that require to use a specific weapon, for example Quarrel Shooter skills benefit from a crossbow, while Fletcher skills benefit from a bow.

Plus crossbows are generally weaker, damage-wise.

From my experience, bow and crossbow dealt different damage with different monster.
Both have same stab attack type but in some case, bow give higher damage and in some case, crossbow will give higher damage.
So i suggest that u should use both, and learn swap weapon attribute.

xbow as quarrel shooter you get Stone Shot with no CD and chance to stun enemy. less damage but you got stun spam so long as you have stone arrows.

thx for answering i try both

I think also that crossbows have a little more aspd while walking, but i’m not quite sure :o

One-handed crossbows are also cooler, imho.

oh ok but crossbow u need to be closer to use it then bows right?

Yes, you do.

Anyway, I am inclined to think that there’s not “best” option for all the situations, so I think it is a good idea to have the “switch equipment” atribute and equip one crossbow + shield and one bow, and switch between them depending on the situation.
