STR and DEX. Let’s say I have a 100 lvl archer. What if I put all stats to DEX, I would do low weapon dmg of-course but I would fire fast like a demon? or there is a global cooldown between attacks? And if so, how does DEX affect hit rate?
Dex doesn’t affect attack speed in this game. Just hit rate, crit hit rate and evasion.
Edit: Agi not Dex. Lol. woops, But still, it doesn’t affect attack speed.
there’s no dexterity in this game, so it doesnt affect anything.
you want to get strenght and agility for archer.
Agility was renamed to dexterity according to EN patch and for what I can remember when CBT1 went to CBT2.
I saw some archers with high STR and medium DEX and vice-versa. I think there is no “meta” right now.
What would be the highest DPS analogy between the two stats? 2STR:1DEX?
I will do the math tomorrow but so far I don’t have any data on my hands.

I changed my mind after taking a look at what Attributes had to offer (I’d call them “Techniques” though). I started going STR, but switched so that now I’m closer to 2:1 DEX to STR. With high dex, using the Swiftstep Attribute that gives up to +50% crit boost while it’s active, and upping the +crit chance for other big-hitting skills (like Multi-shot), you do substantial damage.
Then there’s the Fulldraw Attribute that drops tagged enemies’ defense, and your team’s DPS will get a boost, assuming it works like Deprotection zone.
The one archer skill that looks good at first, but ends up being, in my opinion, a death sentence is Kneeling Shot. You’re just a sitting duck. AoE is king, so stick to Multi-shot and Oblique Shot for clustered mobs.
Seriously though, Attributes make all the difference.

It seems I need to make an amendment re: Kneeling Shot. It looks to be the perfect thing if you end up having to grind for hours on end, which, as the beta stands, a lot of people have been turning to. It’s especially easy since you can just hold ‘Z’ and you’ll auto-switch targets (leading to many false accusations of botting).
Without a skill reset, though, I can’t do an actual grind-spot efficacy test between the two before the beta is over.
If you touch STR as a Archer, I will laugh at you.
And how will you get crit damage up? I played some archer until level 18 or so, full dex. And while my crit chance was 50 or so (still only a crit every third hit or so) my crit damage was eight.

Um, Yellow Gems? A good weapon? I played an Archer on kCBT to 130 with 200 Dex. Nothing hits you, really. Except for mage mobs, which die easily to Archers. Every attack is a crit. Crits will always deal 150% more dmg

If you’re leveling an archer you’ll want a healthy dose of STR and DEX.
I did a stat reset to all dex on my level 35 to test. I hit more crits than not so I assume if I were level 50+ I’d be hitting crits almost every attack, however my crits were for a piddly 60 damage each.
With a str dex mix (39/24) build my normal attacks hit for 72 at the lowest and I crit less, but for 150 each. My DPS is INSANELY higher with with str in the mix (also bosses have crit resist so you’ll crit them a lot less. Relying on crit ESPECIALLY while leveling is not going to be fun for this already extremely under powered class)
I’d argue for leveling early worry about getting STR up to 40-50 before you start putting massive points into dex if you want to be a crit archer.
While crits are satisfying, STR is going to be what gives you any sort of useful DPS. Sure, geming up will help, however there’s no way you’re going to keep leveling up gems so they’re worth anything for your leveling weapons.
It’s funny to me seeing a guy named “stayhumble” act like such an elitest. It’s just sad though that his advice is just flat out bad.

Acctually that guy is right… str will give damage true… but after 600 dps a full DEX build outpowers the full STR one…
