This thread was created because I am curious as to if a more melee-leaning Archer can currently work in the beta we have now, and how one would go about that. Right now it seems a Rogue is the only class in the Archer tree with skills specifically made for melee attacks - to be used with a melee weapon. It seems out of place almost yet intriguing, and the thought of making an agility based melee character with tricks from the Archer tree is enticing. My question is if its actually even worth attempting.
To be fair, we have not seen all the classes in the game yet in the Archer tree, but even if later ranks in the Archer tree were added I’m curious as to if a more melee-oriented Archer can currently function since you would have to level the class as ranged for quite a long time just to get down to the melee-oriented skills. I am assuming that this would play havoc with how you allocate your base stats, since you would be choosing more strength over agility as you progressed. Or is this even the case? I can only theorycraft since I have naturally never played the game.
I’ve searched the forums, browsed the wikis, and watched streams and videos, but I still do not understand if this is a possibility or how it would work. I’m looking for those with more experience to set me straight, or illuminate the situation. I would love to toy with such a melee-oriented Archer class as long as I know I’m not ice skating uphill.
