Archer Spammer Type | STR or DEX?

I’ve been testing different builds with this beta calculator from tosbase.

Note: the info put into the box (like 10 extra points from statues) is a little random but enough to make a decision.

Note2: i’m not an expert on this. Just googled “damage calculator” and it appeared this. Maybe i have to have in mind extra factors, so if you follow this is up to you!.

FULL STR

Physical Attack: 606
Critical Attack: 406
Critical Rate: 49

FULL DEX

Physical Attack: 210
Critical Attack: 10
Critical Rate: 314

3STR:1DEX

Physical Attack: 503
Critical Attack: 303
Critical Rate: 112

1STR:3DEX

Physical Attack: 305
Critical Attack: 105
Critical Rate: 245

So i think the most balanced and theorically “powerfull” spammer archer type build would be 3STR:1DEX.

Why? Well, other builds have high damage but no critical at all or viceversa.

3STR:1DEX build has

Physical Attack: 503
Critical Attack: 303
Critical Rate: 112

which is quite balanced. So + adding critical gems to your equip + high refined weapon i think the damage we could get would be nice.

The other possibility i think it would be 1STR:3DEX with a VERY NICE endgame weapon or damage gems or whatever, because your critical rate would be enough and you will have no damage.

All these thoughts have been made not having in mind skills buffs or extra help from equipment, etc.

I was looking into SPR builds as well, and i’ve seen posts where people say that apparently STR doesn’t do much end-game and equips make up for it, making people go full dex. Then I read another post about going dex/spr 1:1 making it easy to spam skills. SPR also gives magic defense which is nice and some kind of armor penetration pretty much. I’m going DEX/SPR 2:1 and this is my build:

I may change it a little since someone recommended me Full Draw, but idk. After hours of research, I finally decided to stick with this.

Never ever invest spr as it is pointless. You will regret it. Go hybrid or strength dex. For me I am going for high dex as I dnt rely on auto attack damage much more of the burst kind.

I finally ended going 1:1 STR:DEX until STR 50. Then full DEX.

@dune180 How’s SPR pointless? Isn’t having some of it good for extra sp, especially for skill spammer types?

@dani_ahead What level are you? Could you let me know how full DEX works out for you?

Hello!

Lvl 121

With basic equip (obtained from quests) and lvl 75 2h-bow +5 i’m doing normally between 700-850 critical hits to normal lvl 115 monsters (lvl 35 Oblique Shot Attribute) and between 1,1-1,4k to flying mobs (lvl 2 flying mobs attribute).

With Swift Step Attribute lvl 5 i’m getting 220 critical rate.

Damage could be better as i haven’t bought my lvl 120 bow yet so have in mind that.

Normally full or almost full DEX archers shine when they become lvl 200+ or so, as they buy a ■■■■■■■ OP bow/crossbow + full gemmed equipment so you got high critical rate (like 350+) and high damage due to weapon.

Finally i found topic that relate to stats

Now lvl 190 as Fletcher C2

Str >> 100
Dex >> 210 smth
Con >> 25

I want to ask if i go for full dex after this or get 2 str: 1 dex ?

If your bread and butter skills do a single large instance of damage, go full dex. Make up for the lack of bonus damage from gems, enchants, equips, etc.

If your bread and butter skills do multiple hits of damage, go full str. Make up for the lack of crit rate and accuracy from equips, gems, enchants, etc.

If your skills scale with either one, go into that one.

This game rewards you for pumping all of your stats into a single attribute because of how the bonus stats work. Then you cover the rest with equipment.

I suppose Barrage and Multishot would count as the second type?

What about falconer/cannoneer skills?

Cannoneer is 1 hit huge damage. You can solve this in two ways:

  1. Get a lot more dex than str.
  2. Go ranks into Archer 2 or Rogue 1 for their Crit Rate buff.

Whatever the case is, because the base damage for Cannoneer is so large, having a high crit rate would benifit it more.

Split arrow is not really high in terms of multi-hits since it only hits 3 times. What would be considered high is:

Multi-Arrow (16 hits)
Magic Arrow (25 hits)
Broom Trap (whatever the theoretical limit is)

just go full dex till 170 or until you get good gears. This will also help you to survive because of the evasion that DEX gives and still do - ok - damage due to high crit chance.

After getting your gears, you can start pumping STR for more damage :wink:

After lvling an Scout to lvl 220 and having several friends who got many archers at 280, the best build would be STR:DEX 3:1. As you will be given a lot of critical rate from Sissel Bracelets.

Yeah sorry, i’ve been playing enough to suppose people already know that in every build you have to increase con up to 75/100.
