Archer Guide by Dante

what the different between bows and crossbows? oh and how you increase rank?

It looks like archer > archer > archer is the way to go, but what about for rank 4, 5, and 6?

How does this build look?

That’s exactly the build i’m going for except that i’m still hesitating going fletcher circle 2 or falconer.
I recommend getting flare shot more than camouflage tho. Because camouflage only allows you to do normal attacks.

Tried Sapper this beta, was nice but i want to try something else next beta XD

I read you could use camouflage to multi shot, not sure if it’s true though.

EDIT: nvm confused with cloak

No, you can’t.
You can cloak for multi shot, camouflage is like kneeling shot. No skills.

oh right nvm, cloaking is what I meant.

I’m surprised you liked the Swift Step skill, maybe there’s something i’m missing… I went archer c2 -> sapper & got to lvl 74 and had swift step lvl 10. It’s the one skill I regretted investing in because for me it was totally useless and not worth the sp?? x_x

The speed it gives is 100% moot because animation cancel attacking is much faster &, for me, even with the crit attribute maxed I didn’t see a drastic difference in my crit rate. My dex was up to around 70 though so maybe that’s why it didn’t feel like It made me crit any more than I already did without it.

If I make my archer again i’m probably going for kneeling shot over swift step. ;( I’d rather spend the sp it takes to use swift step on 4 heavy shots or… anything really & In the long run that would increase my dmg output probably.

i’m not sure but i’m going to take swift step instead of kneeling shot because i’m going to do a mobility build this time. Swift Step does increase Critical rate quite a lot, i heard it can be raised up to 50% more?

ā€œWhen [Swift Steps] is being activated, Critical occurence will increase by 10% per Attribute level.ā€

Heavy shots push back the enemy a little and do some damage but i didn’t really like it in this cbt. I prefer Oblique Shot which is awesome, it bounces off on a enemy pretty far away.

The only doubt i still have is from falconer skills because if you use the skill ā€œPheasantā€ once, the hawk goes away and you have to call it back :/. So i might go fletcher circle 2 instead of falconer.

Back to this thread again.
Doing some research on Hunter and Falconer class.
Looks like i’ll test this class in the next beta.

I haven’t experienced the glorious feeling being a Beastmaster class in any MMO.
Let that pet of yours do the job instead you hitting ā€œZā€ all the time, sounds fun.

I even experimented with the Skill build as well.

@yeule Well, he did say his build was focused too much on STR, so probably he need that Crit rate buff from swift step.

And I think it become a little clear for me.
You’ve got like 2 path from Archer C1
If you like Seeing that Muscle icon on STR and somehow unconsciously investing too much on it. Go take Swift Step.
If you like to see Bosses tried so hard to hit you but he always fail like some shitty generic mobs while you do some 75% crit chance damage. Go take Kneeling Shot.
Either way I think it will go down the same path to any other advanced class. A fearsome DPS.
It’s just a simple theory that came pass thru my mind, though.

From what I hear, output from Kneeling Shot levels 120+ is laughable and this skill really goes downhill. But really, you cant notice a 50% crit rate bump? What the hell guys. And it is not like Archer is a mana hungry class or anything. I get points in it because 1) I want the buff to last longer than the duration, as I feel it really is your bread and butter and 2) What else do I want? Fulldraw? Heavy Shot? Meh. I despise Kneeling Shot as well, being stationary is the wrong way to play the game, just is. Also, as already said, ā€œbottingā€ is bad, mhnkay?

I really think that later on, you can get enough crit rate from just Switf Step and gear that you dont need the dex invest. And I WISH that evasion is not a thing in PvP as was in Ragnarok.

Hey, do your pet have any type of attack ? (slash, blunt or stab) Or is it generic damages like mages ones ? Thanks a lot for your input about the hunters ! Also ain’t the early levels as hunter kinda hards ? And last question for now, how does it work for training your pet ? And can you increase other stats than crit rate for your pet ?

Thanks a lot for this feedback.

It’s not only hunters. I was ArcherC3/ScoutC1, my pet was 100+ lvl. I was grinding solo in Workers Lodge and pet does nice aoe damage, taunt too.

You can increase lot of stats from Pet Master.

Thanks for the answer ! Can you increase the stats that you want any number of time ? And how expensive is it ?

Number of time for what?

Every stat has different price. It’s not so expensive.

Because it’s a defensive DPS class? Being a jack of all trades has it’s uses.

Not to mention later classes will make up for the lack of DPS, surely.

A dead DPS is no DPS at all Wink

when you go falconer… will your companion skills still remains?

Sounds awesome if you can have both pet and falcon up at the same time. I might consider trying it in the next beta, provided if I get in. And it seems like falconer is the only class choice to go after Hunter C3 as the other class is the Schwarze Reiter and the playstyles seem to contradict as you have to be mounted to attack, thus negating the hunter class. I like the Schwarze Reiter too =(

1 - hmm now that you mentioned I think he doesnt have a type , all mobs in the same level range were taking the same amount of damage.

2- Nah, early levels were easy. I made sure to max Rush dog first so my pet was around doing very good damage. The problem here was spending a lot of money to raise his stats ( omg they are so expensive).

3- Basically you can pay to increase each of his status by 1. The prices scalates very quickly. So when I boosted the crit rate over 100 it was already costing like 50k each upgrade.

4- You can increase all the stats a player also have 1 by 1 , base damage, hp, evasion , crit resistance , any of them.

@galang_gabriell1 yes, you keep all your companions going Falconer.

Building falconers through hunters is a little hard though , falconers aren’t a solo class. All his skill have very long cooldowns, so your dps is still going to depend a lot on your hunter pet.
The falcon probably gets screwed up by bosses traps ( since their attack pattern is random)

You can always keep running until your Hanging Shot comes back from cd. Of course it would takes ages, but it is a realiable way to solo.

About the ā€œdead DPS is no DPS at allā€, yeah but that doesn’t mean you have to be tanky, or you would not be a DPS class, you would be a BRUISER. Also, there are ways to keep yourself alive like mobility or the already cited Hanging Shot (or alcohol).
