Appreciating IMC :D

There’s a lot of hate and vitriol floating around toward IMC for the long maintenance yesterday. So I just wanted to make a positive thread for thanking IMC for working so hard to cleaning up a large mess.

Whatever issues you have with IMC, they’re not responsible for the long maintenance; those who exploited the system are. You don’t get hit by a car and then blame the doctors who try and fix you, right?

Many of us need to calm down and at the very least appreciate that IMC are working to make ToS a fair(ish, lol) game. If you have fun with ToS, and are willing to put the time in, then at least drop a thanks for the effort.

The correct analogy would be: The doctor hits you with a car when you are on the sidewalk and then tries to ressurect you.

I can appreciate that they’re making an effort to fix the mess but speaking from first hand account, even people who had no idea what was going on were flagged

You have to consider how many normal players will be hit in the crossfire of your decision to punish exploiters, and they won’t take it lightly

The correct analogy is, the Doctor is a student driver, you are observing his driver’s ed course while watching him swerve about, you decide to JUMP IN FRONT OF HIS CAR, he patches you up and apologizes to onlookers while you sit out in a hospital bed for a week.

You go to the doctor for a routine procedure

The doctor ends up making things worse and you get sicker because of his malpractice

The doctor then decides to fix you up, which ends up with you losing time out of work because of his mistake.

No, here’s the correct one.

You’re working at a job where your boss pays you $10 an hour. It’s announced that there was an issue with the payroll, but your boss said it’s been fixed. Now, following that, your boss starts paying you $100 an hour. So you work longer because you’re suddenly being paid more. Since they payroll has been fixed, maybe they changed wages for certain positions or are giving bonuses. When you ask your boss, he doesn’t say anything.

Then the next day your boss comes in and says that he actually hadn’t fixed the payroll. So what does he do?

First, he locks everyone out of the building for 18 hours. Then, as you enter the building, he grabs your wallet, takes out all of the extra money you earned, and then suspends you from working for a week.

All because he hadn’t actually fixed the payroll.

Edit: And to add insult to injury, during your suspension he won’t count your attendance, meaning you can’t get a full bonus for showing up each day. (the Wild Tales of the Masters event)

I not one to agree with the white knights, but bugs happen in all kinds of games. If you keep that in mind when reading the information we have been provided, IMC dev are trying to fix the issue. Whether they are efficient at doing so or not is almost irrelevant.

I mean half of the people upset abused the bug and are mad they got caught red handed while other are still enjoying their gains.

They ■■■■■■ up basically killing the game for me, I came back for the event and now go temp banned cause I didn’t knew that those boxes weren’t supposed to drop that much, good thing I decided to wait to spend any money, IMC just proved how incompetent they are, at least I still have the money to spend it on path of exile after all GGG respects their player base

IMC appreciation? of what?

  • They don’t allow server transfer (Basic feature nowadays)
  • Their solutions to THEIR problems is always bad as this one
  • Everytime they “fix” something, 2 other things get broken
  • They have shitty costumer service, even for players that have buyed stuff

They’re more reasons but we all know how it goes so yeah, ty IMC for being inefficient as you can get :slight_smile:

PS: OP needs some classes on how to do analogies.

They give you a compensation for the maintenance of 18 hours you see that you have to charge before 3 days you keep it to charge it to the last day but you get bann of a week, then it is a scam?
