Title says all. I’d like to play using a smaller window without sacrificing graphics quality.
I don’t get what you mean, you can resize the window (in window mode) but don’t expect to see details since it will be smaller to the eyes and it may look like low quality image.
Don’t some games basically have their own native resolution? Also, smaller to the eye doesn’t necessarily have to mean worse quality. I have a 12 inch display that has a quad HD resolution and a 21 inch screen with full HD resolution. There are games that allow you to play in windowed mode, resize it and still retain the in-game resolution, unless I’m misunderstanding something here? Same as how you can lower the resolution in some games and still remain full screen, but obviously the quality would be worse then.
Edit: another example: when you play a high res video file and make it smaller, the quality will be the same, but it’ll just be harder to see. If you make it bigger than the supported resolution however, the displayed quality will get worse.
The thing with ToS is that you have to lower the game’s resolution in order to make your window smaller.
That is what i meant, i can’t say for sure if ToS will lower the quality, but as far as i can see in game, the textures are already low quality by nature, the game only apply some effects to make it look sharp and visible, my guess is that it will only lower the resolution but not the quality like most games do, but as i said, i can’t say much about ToS since i haven’t tried.
Upon further testing, I realized I feel like it only really affects the character displayed on screen, while the rest seems pretty much the same. The details of the character are already harder to make out when you zoom out at full resolution, but it gets a lot worse when you make the window smaller. lol So I guess that means lowering the resolution doesn’t actually lower the quality, it’s just that the quality is already bad like you said… orz
