Any tips for Latin American players on ping?

As per today (1/11/15) I’m unable to play. I spend more time connecting to the server than actually playing the game, if I were to describe it, I’d say as soon as mobs are on the map, I lag (when using //ping it returns 50.01 and worse, which i think is 50 seconds to get a response from the server).

I’ve asked around to lot of people, it seems nobody has this problem (possibly they’re not from latin america(?)). Up to this point, I’m located in Panama (not Brazil, so it shouldn’t be an ISP issue).

I’ve tried using WTFast (following the guide on this section) and if anything it made it worse (tried using the Florida VPN, as it was the lowest ping). Should I just stop playing the beta and wait for release or is there anything that can be done?

i’m using wtfast and my in-game ping is around 200ms or lower. 50000 ms there is something really wrong with your internet, try calling your ISP and they will do some tests, good luck.

These 2 screenshots summarize my problem. There’s the //ping and also, sometimes when changing maps, I get stuck in the loading screen and have to restart my client (maybe this is a bug? but I havent heard of anyone else having this issue too so…).

And this is a video of the lag i’m talking about.

In case the problem is my ISP, what should I tell them? I mean, ports aren’t blocked since I’m able to connect, so what should I tell them to do?

Any help would be appreciated a lot, thanks in advance.

Are you using wireless? Also the servers aren’t very stable atm. Calling the ISP won’t help you much.

Well, they are adding a Latin America server within the next week, I am waiting for that one.

I’m from Argentina by the way. I had some latency issues on which I had to wait a few seconds in order to let the game catch up and finally rewarding my quest, this doesn’t happen that often and i am still able to play.

If it is server related, don’t forget that when they add the LA server, it will still be located on NA for a while, and then moved closer to us.

I recommend you to wait and try on the upcoming server, and if it still goes wrong, then try to use common troubleshoots, like checking ports, pinging the server ips on console commands and such.

Your best bet is to wait for the Latin server sometime soon

Sadly I have the same problem, Im from Latin America, I have a strong internet connection , but the lag is unreal X_X
They need Improve this fast, I cant even play

I don’t really know why but I think it’s a problem with the Amazon Web Services and Latin America. When I ping to Virginia US or even other places near it I get a good 130~150 ping but when I ping to Amazon Servers that IMC is using the ping is just horrible. It’s not some ISP issues because my friends are playing with other ISPs and got the same problem and we got people on this topic not even from Brazil with the same issues. Just take a look at the screenshots. Pinging Virginia US from cmd.exe gave me 136ms, Amazon Web Services: 273,5. Pinging to Brooklyn, NY with pingtest 160ms. Something is really wrong. 273 ping is not really fine to play it’s horrible. I would not even bother with a Latin America Server if I was getting something like 150ping but almost 300 is just terrible. @STAFF_Ines
