Any suggestions for a viable farming character?

My main character is a support oriented priest (currently level 145) and I don’t know but in every game I play, I always main as a support and always make a sub character for stable farming.

I made my second character for farming just a week ago and the character lvl is pretty low so it’s not really a pain in the arse to make a new one that is more suitable for the job.

I would like a good character able to farm quick in maps with manageable sustainance (pots, bonfires etc.) The character that I made is an archer and I’m planning to roll Arch2-Ranger1-Sapper2-Fletcher2 so that I can easily kill monsters from afar with some good aoe and single damage. Am I on the good track? Do you have other viable jobs/classes that you want to suggest for farming $$$ (basically killing off mobs, selling off recipes, equipment, etc) something like that.

Any suggestions would do! Thanks! I just wanted to compare things and I have pretty much little to none information regarding other classes other than archer and clerics.

Thank you very much in advance!!

Archers are really great for what you have in mind. The damage output makes your silver gain quite fast in areas with high mob density. You could also look into Corsairs. They have a skill that increases their silver gain as well as the chance of rare loot. Personally if I was making a character for this same purpose, I would make a really beefed AoE DPS swordsman with Corsair.

A tanky Corsair w/ ranks in Pelt & Squire seems good as you can open shop with it when not logged in, farm when you are able to play, and still be wanted in parties if needed.

Another similar option is a cleric build with Chaplain and Pardoner ranks. Can solo farm, can open shop when not logged in, wanted in parties.

Sorc and necro builds seems to be popular in current midgame grinds/farming (e.g. Dina Bee, Demon Prison). I see Dievs doing OK on these grinds too.

Corsair x2 with Jolly Roger 10 > Dopple with DPE 5 = Mucho loot and silver, and happy party members as well. I have a Corsair > Fencer which I plan to take another rank of Corsair with, and just JR 5 is great. It needs to be 5+ though for viable farming.

For Archer, a Quarrel Shooter 3 > x2 Archer (or even x3, but most people prefer Scout or Falconer) is extremely fast single target damage. QS3 allows you to shoot while running. I have a low level one who hasn’t even hit QS3 yet and any time I need to farm something near or under her level range I just whip her out.

+1 Damn, how did I forget about Doppel. XD

Pardoner is for me by far the best character to earn silver if is that what you want.
because: you can sell skills of cleric class to people use, so that close to dungeons entrys are like the best thing, better than recover itens with squire.

but if you want to recover itens with squire I sugest

s > petalsta2>rodelero2>squire full con and dex.

because you can do dungeons and never die.

There is also alchemist in the wisards, and squire in swordsman. Farm killing mobs you need be pacient.

Thanks guys, I’ll study the swordsman class in a while.  and about this shops @Biskee mentioned, I thought only Alchs and Pardoners can do that stall/shop thing in town. Will look into it. Thank you.

If you’re talking farming instead of passive moneymaking, archers are all around the best farming class because they’re the least cooldown locked + kill at a distance so you can easily run through a map killing ■■■■ constantly. Wizards and some Swordsman builds blow up a group of mobs quickly but then they have to wait for cooldowns. My scout3 has literally 0 downtime because I just spam split arrow all day every day and farm very noticeably faster than my other characters.

Thats a good input. Are rangers good to combine with scouts?

everyone and there uncle knows the best way to make money is to afk sorc minion spam farm

I wouldn’t say Archer beats out Swordsman farming when it comes to item drops, such as recipes. You’ll get more of those from a Corsair due to looting making items drop during combat, and if you have Pelt, well, easy peezy to gather mobs. Archer for silver though is the best for active farming, it’s just a tad quicker with classes like QS3 and Scout 3. While the extra silver you get from Corsair is great, on higher level mobs it takes longer to kill them. Perhaps the incoming balances will help alleviate this though.

…And I’m gonna have to agree with IMCisGreedy. Sorc afk farming for silver is the easiest route of all. Cough. I’m making a Sorc/alchemist for this purpose. Cough… With as many people as you have complaining about it at the moment though, they may make some changes in the future.

I was originally thinking of going ranger but I ended up going archer3 instead for more multishot and twin arrow since scout has really poor single target. In retrospect ranger might’ve been better.

Thank you so much guys. Will start to think about my farming character after I hit 200 on my main. Your opinions are very well noted.
