Any Schwarzer Reiter players out there?

So now that there is some feedback of rank 6 players coming to light i’d like to encourage all those SR players out there to leave some feedback on the class.
you constantly see people mention that they are playing fletchers, but so far nobody seems to have reached SR and i’d appreciate any feedback you can give.

thanks!

I saw someone else that was about to hit reiter, think we lost him to fallout 4 though, lol. I hit 200 a few days ago, but am just at class level 9. Enough to test the skills, but I really wanted to get the mana-mana gun before I really gave the class a critique since the other guns are so bad… Alas 1% drop rate on a lvl 200 dungeon means I probably won’t get to before beta gets wiped.

I managed to farm a handgun, which seems to be the 2nd best alternative.

Equipment aside, I suppose you want to know about the skills.

Concentrated Fire: Need to re-look at this skill, turns out it was a control bug with the controller that made it buggy. Don’t put your multi-shot, concentrated fire on the same key as sub weapon attack.

Caracole: I think it is only useful to put 1 pt into it in order to either use as a gap closer or put distance between you and the enemy. It is fun to play around with.

Limacon: Single target and no cooldowns. Doesn’t slow you down when you use it. Drive by shooting at its best. I dumped about 3m into it to get it to lvl 50, but can’t reason to use it over oblique shot in pve. The sp cost hurts for just a little more damage. I suppose in pvp the more damage helps, but oblique has chance to slow and bounces.

Retreat Shot: Aoe in a linear cone behind you as you move. Need a wall to really use effectively. Cooldown feels pretty long. Nice damage. Probably best skill.

Anyways, the best part about reiter is being able to be on a mount while using bow skills and the cute clothes! I probably will do more testing later, just kind of in lazy mode right now farming bosses and trying to gear up a bit. If you have any questions or want me to test anything, please feel free to ask.

thank you so, so much for the reply,
this stuff is what i was worried about, i hoped the steparu videos were just made with a bad build, but that pretty much tells the story right there.

i had hoped it would be worth it just for the mount and some aoe for the downtimes between sapper traps ( even with the annoying mounting) but this doesn’t sound too good.

could you try out caracole 5? i might be a great burst to rush backwards through a whole mob, at least it looked decent on the video i saw^^

thanks for the effort!

Well, the mount does give stats. About 25% of its hp, 10% of its def, 8% of its evasion is added on to your stats. My mount at lvl 167 gives me about 2.1k hp, 12 def, and 26 evasion. I dumped about 1m into its stats. The extra movement from the mount certainly helps position yourself better in fights as well.

I can try caracole 5 later, but I don’t think it will do much more than tickle them lol.

too bad it doesn’t add offensive stats, kinda counter productive as a dps class :expressionless:

Well attribute-wise, there is the 50% extra damage to mutant types if you have a pistol equipped and 25% accuracy increase one. The accuracy would help hit annoying high dex builds. But yeah, it is definitely lacking in usable fire power.

I tested lvl 5 Caracole, it hits each mob twice and has a pretty good sized aoe. I was doing 1k crits at 0% attribute, which just tickles the mobs at lvl 200… lol It has a charge mechanic, but no matter full charge or none at all it doesn’t seem to change anything. Damage, aoe size, or distance covered. Still think 1pt is pretty much all you need in this.

Concentrated fire I tested again after moving the skill to a different button from sub weapon attack. You still need a sweet spot or it will misfire and you get no damage. Does 5 attacks. I was doing about 2k crits with it at 0% attribute. Hard to hit with moving targets. Multi shot is way more versatile and forgiving than it.

thanks for trying this out, i feel like the skills are bugging like vendetta and backstab, this damage seems extremely underwhelming for a rank 6 class. so the videos i saw are from farming mutants :expressionless:

i think i’m still going SR after c2 archer> c3 sapper just because there are not really any good alternatives. c1 fletcher for defense removal and single target cloth destroying would be the only think that sounds useful around that level.
falconer doesn’t seem to be useful at all at c1 even when aoe grinding.

going for cannoneer or musketeer at rank 7 seems to be a must unless additional circles give existing classes some seriously great stuff ^^

I think i might go reiter at rank 7 and go 3 into wugushi, I wonder if the last wugushi skill works on mount though, hmm… Though have to wait to see cannoner and musketeer skills to decide.

you can’t, both jican gu and throw gu are only usable while dismounted

Yeah, that throwing pot is annoying since you have to get off the pet. The whole sequence is pretty straightforward and fluid when it works. But there are a lot of times the pet goes and decides to fight when you get off it. This forces you to go into a bad position (move closer to the enemy) to mount it again. Also it either dies or when you go near the pet and try to mount it will not register the command. I have to basically kill the mob and then I can get on it. During boss battles it is even worst since it just instant dies and loses all stamina (this causes the boosted stats you get from your pet to disappear). Feeding the pet again is really inconvenient in battle, not to mention the shortcut seems to only work when it feels like it.

Did I mention you lose your hp when you dismount and remount even though you were full. So my hp is at 10k hp, then I get off mount to use skills and it drops to 8k hp. When I get back on mount I am at 8k hp. This forces me to pot in order to get it to full again.

Anyways good news, with the 2 xp I will probably get to class lvl 15 and I finally crafted a Mana-mana. I will conduct some more tests, hopefully it is promising.

A saper into rogue is definitely a much better and OP option out there.

That said I’m going to get to SR on max tuesday so I’ll do a write up after
