Any pros in going blue gem over red gem?

No concrete evidence, just speaking from experience on using both Blue and Red lv6 gems on five hammer.

Red, on average, actually gives lower output than blue. I’m seeing much more damage numbers hovering on the below-average range rather than average and above when using red.

Might test this when I have too much free time.

Do it with over thousand of hits then average it if you have time.

my 2 cents.

If you have less than 2.6k magic attack don’t bother with red gems. Since it will not help you tide over the issue you face at R8.

Or unless you are cleric/ chapalin types of cases where you use both damage to add add into both damage.

After all it’s is Magic amp just that calculated to your Magic attack range. (which means it benefits more to stuff that stacks % on base magic attack range.)

I’ll try testing on Siaulai golem on a low-INT character.

blue gems are better the higher you transcend your weapon.

Gems not affected on transcend.

It was a misinfo that have been corrected already. So it doesn’t matter if it’s blue or red as long as you know what you are doing.

Since red does benefits off more with Chap cards but is still RNG range versus blue stable Chap cards boost O_O… that’s about it.

hmm then red gems might be better
they are better on clerics for sure

Cleric with phy+magic damage like inquistor will benefit with red since double damage type. Yellow is fine if they are highly crit siding.

So it actually aim at what is the optimal you are building.

Generally if you are a mage you will want to get Above that mdef threshhold first way later when (you get at least around 4k magic attack) alone red will start “functioning” as good as your magic amp.

Pretty much, Blue still works as well just constant(treat blue as Red gems on off hand).

The average is actually lower on the red gem if you look at the numbers in game. The charts posted here are outdated.

@tampon charts are actually updated so i am not sure which outdated chart you are refering to
