I have a Sw3-Pelt1-Squire1-Fencer, I stopped playing my fencer since they nerf the Guardian buff, but now the fixed it, Im still waiting for the updates on the new Rapiers in the recent patch, or if there’s any??
Unless those new rapiers have +2 skill buff, they’ll be inferior to Venier. You need some crazy base damage to outweigh getting Epee to level 7.
if you’re after the skill epee alone, it’s simple, weapon switching will do the trick, equip Venier buff and switch. i think its unfair for the fencer class not to have high lvl gears.
I’m really thinking that lvl 315 rapiers will come from the new World Bosses, gonna wait a little while to see if one emerges from the hunts. Otherwise ■■■■ up that venier until Solkimi(or Solmiki can’t remember).
Epee is not the only reason, all FencerC3 skill will benefit from the +2 skill level from Venier which gives big numbers compared to a +300-400PA Rapier, an thus still outweigh any new Rapier unless they also provide the same skill boost.
I agree, it’s not only Epee. Only time a non +2 skill rapier will win is by using a non Fencer skill (High/Barb), which doesn’t make sense.
Maybe they can compensate by doing something like an upgraded Duelist. But imo, the big mistake (not that I am complaining) is Venier. If they kept the +2 skills to ET equips, then Fencers wouldn’t be shoehorned on Venier, just like GCs on QS.
