Hi everyone, first of all, I am really glad that they announced a date for iToS, For that, I thank the IMC iToS team. Hopefully, we will get more information this week regarding the release. I will be joining everyone next week in game.
Currently, I am playing on kToS. I have family who live in S.Korea, but being a 2nd generation Asian American, my korean is pretty bad. I can understand it but I can’t read or write. So I am glad that I can jump ship now to iToS and stop relying on my weChat for translation. My ping will also thank me too.
As for the founder’s package, my opinion might be a little bias since I am more conservative than a liberal. I am okay with the listed pricing because of my socioeconomic background. But I can relate how it can be burdensome for players who doesn’t live in North America. To me, fifty dollar isn’t that bad of a deal for three month period since I used to pay twenty two bucks a month on FF14. Though maybe iToS can compromise and offer a mini-access package such as fifteen dollar per each month for march/april/may access without the TP / headgear benefit. This will allow low income players to try the game without the wait and perhaps fifteen dollar is something that is much easier for their budget to swallow.
I personally wish they had the same plans for kToS too. I started playing on the fifth day of beta(my internet was slow, took a while to download kToS), and I felt like the release was rushed. Furthermore, there were indeed a lot of bots roaming around, in which, some were taken care of by Nexon. But I think Nexon has more resources than IMC does and if I was in IMC’s position, I would have presented a similar package for iToS. I don’t think IMC has the resources to deal with all the launch problem if this game did release as free to play. For that matter, after playing both iCBT, I don’t think iToS has the server capacity for a free to play release either. I am glad that there will be a limited player base joining at launch, this will cause less headache for all of us.
