An idea for the "pelt 1 required in your build"

it would be neat if Swashbuckling became a shared ability between sword1/sword2 and pelt1. Half the current sword builds have pelt 1 so they can get into parties.
Difference between the two should be:
A) can’t press C to guard unless they take pelt or rode
B) no attribute unless your pelt

swashbuckling is too good to pass, having it limited to a non class 1 doesn’t seem like the brightest choice.
This idea isn’t flawless and could be tweaked but it will calm down the buff swords hype train.

If that is not possible to share a skill that create a new one that revolves around taunting like “taunt aura” “walking around monsters will get them agitated and will attack you and your aggro on that monster will remain at 100%for 5 secs” or something along these lines

nope nein terrible :scream:

At that point, why not give every Wizard Quick Cast? It’s supposed to be an investment, a reason to take the class.

Leave swash on Pelt. The only reason this is a big deal is because swash is the ONLY reason swordies can participate in end game pve unfortunately. If only people were looking for sword dps at high levels, we wouldn’t be having these kinda threads.

Thing is, Peltasta is unique because he has the power to taunt mobs so your party doesn’t have the aggro.

If you give some sort of taunt to every class or taunt for the Swordman, there would be no point in taking Peltasta.

Kinda what happens with Krivis or Paladin, no point to pick them atm because you can simply buy scrolls from a Pardoner for Daino or Barrier.

While I agree it kinda sucks that only they’ve the power to taunt mobs and people are forced to pick Peltasta just so they can join parties, is what makes Peltasta good, if you give it to everyone or the main class of the class branch, there would be no point in taking him at all.

why not give all wizards joint penalty while you’re at it?
see my point?

Off Topic: The buff hype train

I think you have the wrong idea on why people want the “Buff Swords Hype Train” running.

I don’t think that the problem right now lies with people having to pick Pelt 1. It falls towards their DPS choices not being worth anything. So little in fact, that it’s not even considerable compared to the other choices at hand. They want to at least be considered for a DPS slot, not a tanking slot. No amount of aggro draw will make that situation any different if they genuinely, do not wish to be a tank. Which is why they want buffs to damage, for players that made their characters for damage. Hell, most of the damage oriented players would literally forgo all of their defense and take 5x the damage just to do at least as much damage as a ranged character for a short amount of time. These players simply want to have a Physical character that can deal damage because they prefer that style of play. Not because it’s tanky, not because they want aggro, but because a Physical class fits their playstyle more so than an Archer or Mage class. #rant.

Or they could just give Swordsman really good offensive utility to increase party damage.

On topic though.

Swordsman receiving a lesser taunt wouldn’t be to bad honestly. It would give more players a reason to go Swordsman C2 and it would synergize well with Peltasta. Undermines the point of choice in the game though.

There are no Swordman dps builds. Just solo builds.

And it’s fine that way.
