Yeah, I know this is closed beta, but keep in mind that you have to do something efficient to ban these people. On the first couple days this was no problem, but today I lost my count how many times I crossed with these disgusting people.
I hope that players can send videos to report these people in the future.
I don’t like KSing either, but it shouldn’t warrant a ban.
A lot of MMOs have something where you can’t attack an enemy in combat with another character unless you’re in his party, or anyone who gets a hit gets credit for a kill. A lot of people assume this is the case or just don’t care.
I know it pisses you off and it annoys me as well, but by no means does it warrant a ban. You can always KS back. Now if they were exploiting a bug that basically gives them an unfair advantage while rendering the game unplayable for others for example, then they should be banned. But KSing is part of the game. If you don’t like it, you should be more vocal about with positive suggestions rather than destructive ones.
Unlike in other games, I have a hard time recognizing what is and isn’t KSing in ToS due to the sheer number of mobs.
Then there are those who clearly wait until you’ve whittled down a mob to charge an attack and kill it.
Devs clearly wont ban for Ks, They make people KS by giving loot for last hit.
Either way they would have create a best system(first to hit, or the most damage dealt).
you can’t do that(most damage dealt) without screwing over the classes without burst or support builds, since there is allready a maximum number of tagable creatures per area ( 8 without skills like swash buckling, joint penalty etc ) just make those enemies first hit locked and implement 10 channels+ for each area so people don’t have to fight over quest mobs.
world bosses don’t need that system since everyone gets loot from them who participates
First hit sounds reasonable, but it’s not. A ranged character could run around tagging all the mobs and the melees would come in to do some work only to get nothing from it. As for most damage dealt, it wouldn’t work either because some classes far outdamage others. Another idea I mentioned in my other post that wouldn’t work is exclusive combat where whoever gets the first hit, only him and those in his party can attack.
The ideal solution would be to either keep it the way it is, or make the game give credit to everyone who contributes towards the kill (at least 1/10 HP so they can’t just tag and then not do anything.)
World pvp. That’s how you deal with KS. But it’s only a pipe dream.
We need some changes to prevent it, just punishing people would be unfair.
For an example, I’m a hunter. My pet just randomly chooses targets around, including targets other players are atacking. The pet also uses the hunter’s skill Rush Dog (an offensive skill with high damage and small aoe) automatically from time to time, which makes it even worse. I don’t have commands to tell the pet to sit or move to a place. What I can do is force rush dog into another mob, but sometimes the skill isn’t responsive enough.
More than that, as an archer class I want to stay far from my targets to stay safe. Sometimes I accidentally hit mobs other guys are casting something into, because we are on opposite sides of the monster and don’t see each other.
I can give you one more example to think about: doing quests around lvl 55-60, I had to deal with mobs that linked us players together. I was losing life and had to atack monsters each time this happened, until finally getting out of that map. I’m sorry for the other guys, but I died one time and was going to die another.
On the other side, I agree something needs to be done. Yesterday a barbarian was after me all the time exploding everything I touched. I had to spam skills or else I would lose just to his auto atacks. When people “like” you, it’s just… disgusting.
ROFL.
You know what would fix KSing? Not having a limit of one channel per town. This game is new and you can’t go hogging a piece of digital land just because you were there first and prevent someone from killing the one single monster that will help them complete the quest they have. You’ll never get someone banned for KSing unless it turns into harassment and they follow you around everywhere.
Cool it. So bitter.
I was completely unaware that it is just the last hit that determines who gets loot from a kill. Nice to know there’s people out to ban me. But I’m glad I saw this, will be more careful.
Why not just sharing everything like GW2 ?
amen to that
or have noks like RO
make it a function in the settings menu that you can turn on an off, that way people can chose if they want to share kills or not.
Is it really last hit? I’ve burst some mobs that were damaged by random casters first; their drops were shaded out and didn’t fly to me.
Not that easy…Lets not make any suggestions that would further delay the launching of the game.
I was about to suggest a shared storage for account where all characters from same account could access it…just like back in RO…but…this might delay the launching date further.
Overall, this game is around 99% completed with some bug catching and fine tuning.
Add-ons could wait.
How it difficult? just add the @noks option on party section then done.
Op the monster on the map are for all the people not just for you.dont go collect all of them and think that its ok.not onlly you need the kills.if you so hate it do a party or youone of this “nice players” that dont want interaction in mmorpg?
2 me its look like you need 2 play a solo game not an mmo. Go play witcher 3 good game and no one will “ks” you
I really prefer “first to hit” system, because I am Cleric player, I know that the “damage dealt” system is really bad.
My Cleric can take so long time to deal 40% HP of a monster, I have be KS so often by a Swordy who come put one “Bash” & One Shot the 60% HP left of my monster, ok I have been KS, I lost my monster… =/
The loot is based on damage dealt to the mob
Problem solved! I never cared if someone KS me or not, but if they make it a habit i enjoy KSing them back.
