Amazing game that needs to do away with its current free to play model

There’s no reason to keep inconveniencing players with all these weird restrictions, if you notice the best and most thriving free to play games also offer the most user friendly models.

I chose to play Tree of Savior over Path of Exile because ToS has an amazing world, incredible visuals and art direction and fantastic music. The game has some of the best atmosphere I’ve seen in gaming and believe me, I’ve played thousands of games in my life, especially JRPGs.

Don’t let this amazing world go to waste, give players complete freedom and only charge for aesthetics and companions, nothing more.

You guys obviously have the creative force to come up with all sorts of absolutely stunning monsters and characters, so use that to your advantage and in your free to play model.
Keep making new, cool looking companions, new clothes and other appearance effects, promote and sell those.

Remove restirctions from the marketplace, from learning attributes, make it so people can FREELY RESPEC at any given time for both stats and skills so we can truly enjoy the robust skill system the game has to offer, experiment and have fun!
You have an outstanding, simple to pick up and play game here and you keep ruining it with tedious restrictions that only serve to alienate your player base.

I know, for a fact that the developers won’t read this, even if some mods do all we’ll get is a message that the developers will be notified and nothing will come of this, eventually this outstanding MMORPG is going to start slowly dying and be shut down due to lack of interest.

Guys, don’t do this to such an amazing world.
You have the game world all nice and good, now make it so your players feel comfortable living in that world.

Also PLEASE for the love of God, make a few burlier, bigger, manlier characters or playable beast races, I’d even buy a character like this, I always play such characters in MMOs because I myself am like that and I’d really like to in this game as well

That’s common… Lots of opinions like that on the steam review page. And they do read those if the changes are any indication.

That said. I doubt you’ill ever see respecs without it tied to events, or a time/money cost. But it’s an unofficially confirmed rumor that it’s coming down the pipe.

I think there are a lot of possibilities to change their model if IMC feels funded enough from jToS. But I don’t honestly think they have the team size to patch in what players want fast enough to maintain such a massive population there. Even if jToS is more receptive to games that could use more polish.

hmm i’ll consider if they revert back all the stupid restrictions they put in the game i don’t mind paying as long as the game lives up to its expectation not 100% but atleast 60-70%

honestly this game got charm and potential to compete with the top tier MMO’s its just sad that IMC doesnt give its full support to make the game flourish plus it just has too many restrictions, bugs, exploits etc that needs immediate attention and be addressed before changing its F2P model to subscription based…

well until then i’ll just continue hue’ing here and there

I’m a fan of simple game mechanics and ToS seems to have just that, I’d hate to see the game die because the developers refused to make some simple, yet very accommodating changes for their player base.

I would’ve prefered if the game was buy to play even or if it had a buy to unlock a normal game option, why not, I’d buy it once and play it whenever and however I want.

You know, this game got a masive player base even before it was released, because a lot of players were looking for years for a game that resembles that Ragnarok Online atmosphere (like me). But now what just happened is that the team in charge of it can’t handle it, and they disappoint those players who were charmed by this game looks and mechanics.

disappointment level No Savior’s Sky

Most of us old folks from the MMORPG community said at release that those restrictions were bad and should be removed ASAP because they wouldn’t work and would only hurt legit players.

We were completely ignored. It’s well past the time to remove the dumb Team storage thing as well as a lot of other dumb restrictions like daily limits.

Hence the many names the game now has: Tree of Limitations/BDSM/Interrupt/Bot/Cosmetics/7%/Forum… Etc.

Those BDSM restrictions mean I can farm for two days on my 280 and buy literally anything on the market. I’ve never had that happen in any F2P MMO smaller or larger then ToS.

Churn or RMT… *shug

IDK, they made many changes to the restrictions. To me the only one that bothers me now is the 48 hour wait on recieving silver from market. If it was 24 hours i wouldnt mind it. Others dont bother me. Also id like them to lessen the item restrictions that can be put in team storage like they mentioned in the QA.

Changing it to p2p wouldnt make people happy. If anything it would make even more people complain because they wont be able to play for free anymore. Right now i have a choice of paying or not, making it p2p would remove that choice. Tokens are your subscription.

If you could enjoy tokens at half the price in the form of a monthly fee would you be ok with that?

At level 280… Rofl.
Most MMORPGs don’t have such a high ceiling. Also glad you used the term BDSM to mock it because I can just point to the level you said it was easy to get money and laugh.

I mean… 280 levels while most of the player base is around the 200s…

And there are plenty of games that make it easy for you to make money at end-game. Blade and Soul is one. WoW is another.

Difference being in WoW, for instance, you have a LOT of stuff to do and you’re not limited to do them as many times as you want. It’s a more diverse experience and it takes a lot longer to grow dull.

ToS restrictions make it dull pretty fast honestly. It’ll be harder and harder for new players to join and stay until we have a bunch of dumb elitists sitting at end-game content by themselves soloing stuff while the game slowly sinks into abyss.

I’d like to add that I wouldn’t mind if they lowered the Silver gain and removed all restrictions and daily limits. :3

On launch, when the game was P2P, it was bot heavy, even with only a 30 & 50 dollar DLC. They removed the 10 dollar DLC I think the first week after launch. It was better than it is now, however. Considering the community has shrunk considerably since then it might be easier to control as a P2P feature. I already pay for a monthly token so I’d have no qualms with a P2P model.

The only problem I’d see coming from this, is F2P players do make up a good percentage of what is left of the community… and perhaps even bot numbers. Some people are sad to see 4.5-5.5k players online. If the number lessens even more because some people will refuse to pay and leave, then some paying players may follow either because their friends are gone, or the MMO looks like it’s dying further.

Korean MMOs thrive on community interaction which is usually two or more groups of players at war. Content has always been their weak point

Blade and Soul has a lot of content… They did made some major mistakes recently. But I’d say content wise the game has plenty. Both story driven quests and instanced dungeons / PvP.

Are they repetitive sometimes? Yes… If you do your 12ish daily dungeons everyday you’ll get burned out really fast. But you never feel like you’re doing a chore while leveling up to the cap. Which honestly… In this game it does. I think they should’ve released the game with a strong core and level cap of 150 before jumping into Rank5 and above. That’s just my opinion tho.

Or 200 even. So that people can reach Alch and such.

Im fine with the price now since i dont have to pay anything. They already halved the price though… If they do make a monthly subscription id think it would be more like $15. Id still pay it though since i like this game.

The majority of people have tokens already and if they cut the price in half again, lose the people who want to play for free and only sell cosmetics, no skill reset, etc. Then i dont think the game would make it. From what ive seen, the majority of people dont even buy cosmetics.

lol? How can you state such thing? At least from what I’ve seen in-game most people in my server have cosmetics or pets. I think the current cash shop is fine. Maybe a seasonal cosmetic gacha would spice things up a bit every once in a while.

I still think the restrictions need to go, they are mostly outdated to the game’s current state. And they didn’t really did that much impact on Gold seller either. They are still there. And some dumb idiots are still buying from them.

I guess we’ve seen different. I was actually going to edit it to say alot, but oh well

They also need to do some rework on some dungeons. Uphill should give exp. No one does it. Specially now that the servers are mostly empty and the level 160 dungeons is a joke. People simply ignore it and skip to the 175 dungeon.

If you got a lv 90… You can go farm yourself Geppettos, dandels and whatever else down there for QS crossbows, dandel gems, and geppettos leaves for the venom dagger and make yourself 4mil a day. Potentially more if you’re on one of the low pops. Best with corsair, thaum, or doppel but so doable with anything that can press an attack button and one shot a lv 70something mob.

While I can do more with a 280 because I’m getting a big influx of easy fast money from Saal it’s not the only place I can go to get money. There are a variety of places you can get fast cash. I generally stick to the caster equipment myself though since I know what’s worth it and what sells.
