Alone in the fields

Hi all !

I have just one question,
After look lots of videos of TOS I have saw that the player is always alone, or in team in the fields, and never meet strangers.
So my question is : We can’t meet stranger in field ? And play only with our team in fields ?

PS : Thanks to answer, and sorry for my bad englsih, it’s not my native language.

nah, if you watch vids of early playing then you can see other people in the field as well

That’s just probably because it’s beta. When released, it will be a lot more people logged, and you will see lots of characters around.

ToS is open field based , so you will meet people in the future on the dungeon or field. .
and yeah, maybe it was beta. . and ToS’s world is so wide by the way,

and fighting each other to get the monster they want :yum:
like the old good RO… and no instance to filter them

Yes, lots of new people!

boy, kids these days really should experiencing Ragnarok. . I hope ToS could give these kids the experience playing real MMO like Ragnarok

OH YES ! Thanks Guys !
When I saw that, I was so disappointed, but your’s answers rejoice me !
I wait this game so much :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks a lot, I thought this game is going to have a very good community !

Pretty sure there IS a channel system though, so keep in mind that you won’t find everyone playing on the same channel.

Also, quest boss fights are instanced, so you cannot run into any other players except your party members.

I played RO since I was 5 years old :3 it was amazing!

We will surely meet other people in various maps.
The reason why you saw people were playing alone in their videos is because they want to grind and mob the whole map without sharing the monsters with other players. They wanted to get a lot of exp. That’s normal.

@Korgan Indeed that’s right, but it won’t necessarly be the case. The players are shared out multiple channels (different game instances), and we don’t know yet the limit of the maximum players per channel. It all depends of the configuration of the server, so it may varies from a publisher to another (depending of the Bandwith/CPU/RAM/etc of the servers)

thats sounds like the opposite idea of IMCgames for grouping hehe… well its really still beta state and seeking knowledge of their class by lvling ASAP.
I hope its not happen all the time when the alread in OBT phase

there will be lot of player… you will unable to see the ground when game release…

i loved that feeling back in ragnarok when i first played it, to meet new people everywhere, at the start of a dungeon or sitting right next to a portal and ■■■■-chatting with each other, so fun! (and ofc, the leechers :P)

  1. I loved the inner workings and life of RO. Like how all merchants
knew the rule that Alchemists/Biochemists afk’d in Orc Dungeon level
2, the Blacksmiths would then Greed the loot to sell it off.
  2. Payon Dungeon was almost everyone’s starting area, so it was a great
spot for alche’s to sell red and orange potions.
  3. Wolves were a great source of exp, but the strawberries sold for a
lot, so keep them (But so many bots)…
  4. Lou was were all the high level 40’s low level 60s hung out, to grind away for weeks on end.
  5. South of Prontera was like THE place to hang out if you were looking for people to meet and dead branches to break.

But all this required like up to months of work depending on where you were training (Like turtle dungeon or even Anubis if you were transcendent). So a lot of friends I made were just from repeatedly seeing them in the same damn field, killing the same damn monsters. ToS won’t be the same, but field stuff sure does have it’s merits~

 agree with so many things said. I think the freedom that sandbox grindy environment gives you to decide where and how you get exp is one of the best things to create that…“feel” of the game being a living place. Like when there is a really good lvling map and you get ppl all resting outside the portal. And vendors all set up in that spot ect… The developers didn’t create those things, they grow from players being free.

Also having someone try to pull a big monster close to the shops to be sneeky and try wipe them all. sure its annoying but like IMC said. Not all interactions in a MMORPG will be good, but they all add to the game!

I love Payon Dungeon BGM and Payon BGM . so refreshing and always welcoming :frowning:

In Payon lvl1 I use to mob all the bats on the map into a ball of death XD and run around with them following me. People would flee when they saw me coming because they knew there wer millions of bats coming >_<

It still makes me giggle even today. Some ppl were calling me batman <_>

yeap . I hope tomorrow in ToS we would be able to do something fun like those wwww . .
rather than boring grinding with a frown on the forehead. . . no fun at all. . just like in any other MMOs
