Can u please allow us to join in the game with the DLC ? a friend gave me a DLC to play it before the official open (free) and the DLC say “is not allow to ur countrie, only ect, ect, ect (Big Countries)” and know im so sad for it and now im ashamed to talk to my friend and say it to him about i cant play after he pay it with sacrifice for me, pls, let us join too! im from “”""""“Dominican Republic”""""" i will not have alot of time to play this game after 10 of april i will be in the university and that make me busy.

Thanks.

And which region is your friend? If he is from NA, you won’t be able to play with his gift, Steam allow gifting but it is region locked, so if it is from different regions you can get but not allowed to use.

Ex.: I can gift a friend on Canada, but she can’t play any game even if she add it on the Library because of different regions.

the game simply is not available in some locations.

the game will probably not become available in those regions after f2p either.

@lxlarielxl you or your friend should look into getting a refund for it, since you won’t be able to play.

I’m not sure you understood what Nirimetus said, but what he said is: To avoid regional pricing abuse, Steam doesn’t allow people from other regions to redeem gifts that weren’t bought on their own region. That’s the reason why, when IMC was using regional prices for the game, people couldn’t buy the DLC in Russia region and redeem in USA region.

Read what i said again before posting, i said by Steam not IMC, as far as i know his country is not on a region lock since it is on North America, if his friend is from EU or SEA or w/e other region, Steam won’t allow the gift to be usable even after being added to the library.

Other thing is, he can be using a VPN that is using other region IP and that too, may cause a content lock on Steam.

@Deprox @Nirimetus ok. deleted that line.

My friend is from mexicco and im from Dominican Republic, and the DLC said “is not refundable” i don’t know what to do, i think i will keep the dlc after they allow it to claim in my region, but that will be to late or i will change the dlc to another thing in steam, but im really sad.

Sorry for my bad english, but i hope u will understand.

Are you using any VPN service? (like WTFast)

If yes, try to log into the game without it.

If you still have problems, try to talk to IMC, not that it is in their jurisdiction, but it won’t hurt try that, but the case should be taken to Steam attention, unless it is some sort of region distribution Steam is doing.

I will send a Support ticket on steam now, i hope them to allow me to use it. and thanks for the help i apreciate it too much.

No problem, i am finding it strange since you and the person who sent you a gift are from the same region, unless he is using Steam under a VPN that is throwing another region IP address (EU, SEA, etc.) and sent to you, then it will be a bit of a problem, if anything, tell your friend to check on his side also.

Best of luck.

I think Dominican Republic and Mexico aren’t on the same region. At the very least, Mexicans pay Steam in pesos, while Dominicans pay in dollars.

Yeah well, it is probably Steam regionalization, i mean, both are on the same continent, but economically can be different in certain areas.

The best he can do is try with Steam and see if his friend can at least get a refund.

I finally found the countries in Mexico region. They are:

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Bahamas, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname, El Salvador, Uruguay and Venezuela.

(Yes, Mexico is part of the South America region. Go figure.)

The Caribbean countries (save Bahamas for some reason) probably form a region of their own, and that’s most certainly the reason why OP can’t play. His friend probably didn’t notice the red icon of doom when gifting.

just :C im so sad i will not be able to progress in this game becouse uni makes me too busy…good job Steam. +1 and sub.
