I got a monster gem I want to add to a weapon, but I want to use that gem in a future piece of equipment as well. The gem was a huge pain in the butt to farm and it’s pretty valuable. Since monster gems are destroyed when being removed from equipment, I can’t add this to my current gear and reap the benefits. If IMC could implement a mechanic or item that removes the gem without destroying it, such as how removing things from transcended items works, that would be great. Or just rework monster gems so that when they are removed, it removes a few potential from the item it was in or whatever.
There will be an update where you can get random gems (including monster) from an npc by paying silver, doesn’t completely solve your problem but I think the idea currently is to keep gems out of the market once they are used.
It’s so stupid that you can’t put a monster gem into a weapon of your level because when you level up you’ll eventually have to change your weapon and lose the monster gem OR you’ll have to farm another one with it’s incredible dull rate
I mean what’s the point of making monster gems stuck in weapons in a game where you have to change your gear every 30 lvls or so
Exactly. If we can take regular gems out of our gear, we should be able to do it for monster gems. Even if it comes at a cost.
well, removing them from the market is easy by just making them untradeable(maybe allow Team Storage) when removed with an item.
Best way would be a TP item so IMC can earn some money and players still have a reason to use the gem NPC and/or farm gems they need, but to give players the option to save a valuable gem of e.g. Mantiwood, Large Panto Spearman or other examples of seldom monsters that’s rarely seen on the market.
true, that’s a good idea, but then what do you do about someone trading a piece of gear to someone who has a gem and having it slotted for them?
It wouldn’t matter. You can trade gems over the market and that includes monster gems. The only problem that monster gems have is that they are destroyed when removed because they cannot be leveled like regular gems. If IMC made it so that monster gems are treated as “special” gems that don’t get destroyed when removed (because they lack a level), then it’s problem solved. Not complicated. I don’t really care if IMC has to incorporate some cash shop item to do it either. I just want it to be an option.
Back in the beta monster gems used to be removeable and people would trade gear -> remove gem to pass them around since gems were untradeable. The destruction thing being added later felt like a way to simply prevent them from being traded. And now that we can trade gems freely, there’s not even much point in the gem breaking anymore on removal outside causing frustration, so the restriction may as well be lifted.
Yep. If only IMC would notice this.
They did. And their decision is still same, destroyed upon removal. Hold on, I’ll try to find what they said for ya. It’s one of the news

Q3
Oh well, I still want them to be removable though. It can’t be that hard for them to change the property of a monster gem to be removable when they can go and program whole new classes and other mechanics lol.
