honestly i never cared much about cash shop, i know they need money, but i will complain about balance. Because what, it helps their game get better anyways

It reminds me when Lineage 2 shop was introduced… so much rage when boosters and other stuff came out… but in the end, people who spend a lot in the game still playing and haters left.

I wonder though where this guy is getting his facts from. 
In my country, if I’m right RO worked for nearly a decade even if the publisher went pay2play with it. 8 hours of playtime back then was already worth my daily allowance for school - it was that f*cking expensive (I also didn’t have my own PC back then and had to play at internet cafes) but I still paid for it because the game was actually fresh, fun and creative.

I dont know much about game development, but this is my opinions.
IDC about gacha and cash shop as long as it doesnt have OP equipment. I believe these games dont last very long.
As for creative and new ideas, im not sure if i agree. Maybe if its something crazy, but if youre making a top down mmo like tos for example its going to basically look the same and gameplay will be similar, but not all features need to be a copy. This is where the game can be different, the features and mechanics.

But then what happen if even the customer service who those to pay cash is â– â– â– â– too? because i ve seen some player that spent a lot of tp but they dint get nothing

LoL: nothing to say
OW: not a free to play and there is still gacha box in it, it’s 50euro
Fifa: not a free to play 40-50euro
Diablo 3: not a free to play 40euro
csgo: the paradise of gacha box dude…
Actually… Wasn’t Diablo 3 a F2P abomination in the East? Like they were paying for storage tabs or something…
at release all was pay to play, but dont forget that at release there was real money auction house…so yeah

It’s about the only game where they explicitly said they wouldn’t put in P2W elements and avoid that.
The international market hates these elements.
If they are implemented the game is quickly abandoned.
Look at archeage. They implemented marketplace items that gave players insane advantages and people quit in mass.
Go look at their sub-reddit, I dare you. Almost no activity. No hype. Servers have been merged over and over. Game is a ghost town.
However the situation in TOS isn’t due to p2w issues, not yet anyway. It’s due to serious shitty launch, constant server issues, poor content, lack of support, poor class balance and RNG upon RNG with crappy design choices. The art, the combat etc. is fantastic, but then there’s shitty boss / monster AI that runs at lighting speed across the field when you hit it once or twice or mage monsters in later maps that 2 or 3 shot you just because the developers couldn’t give us real content so they just made the last few maps as ■■■■■■■hard as possible to HALT our progressing.
Gacha is cancer. It’s good for the Korean market.
We aren’t the Korean market.

OW: gacha that you gain everytime you level up and is completely not needed whatsoever to play the game or grants some kind of advantage.
Same as CS:GO. I don’t know the details of how to get those random skin boxes, but my cousing funds all his games by selling the skins he gets there for free. And they are just that. Skins.
40~50euro is a much lower price to fully enjoy a game with no discrepancies created between players wallets than a game with p2w models can offer.
It was ok for ToS to have the hair accessory gacha in the shop. It is not ok to have a rng box that can give the rarest crafting ore, lvl 10 gem abrasives, the only place so far to have 3star clear voucher, Blessed Gems and others.
Soon enough they will start to sell something in the cash shop to make refinement easier, so people can credit card their new 315 weapons to +25 or whatever (considering Dazzling Silver Anvil is not that already).
F2P MMOs can live with just “convenience” items and costumes/avatars/skins as already mentioned and proven by many.
Hell, the only place i know the community actually supports p2w models is China, not Korea. (their Blade & Soul version of the game was asked to be p2w…)
