I am still excited to play this game. Like most of you I think there are a lot of problems with the way the game is currently going to be set up, both big problems and small ones, and there will likely continue to be problems in the future as new things arise in the community. But even with all the drama, arguing about servers, arguing about the start date, balance issues, and bad features no one likes like blocking 1:1 trade behind a paywall, I am still looking forward to finally getting to play the game again - and not have my character deleted after a week this time. I think that once the servers are finally open and people can play a lot of the arguing will calm down because everyone will be so into the game they won’t even remember what they were arguing about. At least for a week or so.
Well, if we take into consideration IMC is just copy-pasting nexons Version and is calling it “international Version” due to a lack of experience, we can assume nothing is written in stone yet.
Being able to take part with an earlier access, being able to actually help the game to get polished and getting ready for the masses was part of IMCs base plan after all. We need just to be constructive with critique and the company will consider it.
In any new launch expect this to happen on Day 1
Yep lessons learned in a lifetime of MMO’s expect hour of waiting on releases
We just need one server for EU and NA, stop asking for EU servers.
Also that video is spot on, just now people have their money involved so I’m guessing people won’t be smiling as much at possible problems.
Apparently that video is not available in the US.
You know what I told my friend? - I’m going to play iTOS, although i think the game gonna die soon if they don’t make major change to the current stuff.
I want to play the game before it dies.
That’s how much I love the game itself
But I’m very pessimistic for the game’s future : (
Ahah, you made my day
Anyway, remember the “coming soon” guys. With all me came through, we’re just lucky the day won’t release in June
Make the hype come back !
I think we will always have people attacking the game regardless of the time frame.
Its very common across all MMOs. However, a majority of the time, its people wanting things set to their personal preference or what they FEEL is right.
At least IMC are the developers that created this game - By legendary Kim Hakkyu, the creator of Ragnarok Online.
I am also excited. My biggest worry is bots and RMT. The current premium shop system is relatively friendly, compared to what you usually see in these games. I laugh and laugh when I think about the anger the forums have for tokens and magic scrolls, when most of these people came from f2p games where you could buy far more dramatic and game-breaking bonuses with real money.
Not that I like magic scrolls, of course. Paying for Stat is always bad, although scrolls only grant a little bit of bad.
And then there’s the fact that you can just flat out buy tokens for silver from other players via market. +3 Movement Speed has your balls all twisted up? No money? Guess you’ll have to farm some extra silver, then, tough guy.
So… Your biggest worry is RMT, but you support RMT? Because that’s exactly what that is. Someone trading real money for silver/items. Lol. They just go through the middle-man of turning the money into a token first. So instead of “Money>Silver/Items” It’s “Money>Token>Silver/Items”
Well said, even I wasn’t surprised that there were people already complaining about P2W and the game’s future when it isn’t even officially released here yet.
I just want to play the game as it is and have fun!! Hope the forum storm will subside in due time also.
cough
There’s a difference between being passionate about a game and being a dumb fanboy.
The first will of course play the game but at the same time be very critical about its flaws, and if the flaws outweight the good stuff, simply not support the creators of the game anymore.
The latter will throw poop at players who try to criticise bad aspects of the game, and support bad decisions of game developer until the end. This kind of person make the experience of playing a game worse for everyone - by putting a blind eye to bad game planning and cash shop execution (and supporting it financially), they give the developers ideas of continuing to make the same crap over and over again. Yet, they claim that “they’re the ones who keep this boat afloat”. Yeah, I’d rather see a badly thought-out game sink faster than to witness it becoming the epitome of unfulfilled promises and shattered dreams.
Oh, you’re cute. If I thought anyone would actually buy this ploy, I’d take the time to explain the difference. But I don’t, so, have a pat on the head.
All things considered, I reached a different conclusion;
As much as I would like to play the game, ( and will continue to monitor announcements, in the hopes that changes are made) my wife and I reached the conclusion that the interface decisions IMC has made (1:1 trading, punished for moving items between your own characters, penalized for wanting do dungeons with my wife and not solo queue, etc) is just too much to overlook.
For now, this is $100 less that IMC will be getting. Maybe we’re the only ones who feel this way, maybe not. Time will tell.
I have respect for coming to this conclusion in a mature way, that you simply don’t find it your money’s worth anymore and thus won’t purchase it, instead of calling for a boycott. This is the way it should be, really. People who do think it’s worth the money and time will buy and play it. Those who don’t, won’t. And that’s that
That’s because the only ‘difference’ is that the game devs approve of one and not the other because with one they get their beaks wet too. Lol.
