Alienating an entire player base

Guys. You have people buying the game on Steam thinking that it’s launched. Nothing, not one single thing on the main page says “DOESN’T OPEN TIL THE 29TH”. You’re making people angry and they’re sending in for refunds. This isn’t how Steam works.

ANYWHERE:

Make something on the front page say in big, bold letters, “OPENS MARCH 29TH”. First thing they should see is this. All the negative reviews are just people saying “I bought it and I can’t get in, why isn’t this clearer” and they’re ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

My goodness whoever is in charge of public relations needs to be shot.

[Also I think I put this in the wrong window I was in, woops! I CAN’T MOVE IT NOW. Unless I can. Can I?]

[I can!]

Just checked it and he is right. Although most reviews are positive (clearly from players that got to the betas), the negative ones are basically from new players not being able to play yet.

The biggest problem is the release date on the sidebar saying march 18

If possible IMC, take a look

they will see what the get from doing this founder packs … this split the community into two: pay to play and free to play

cause nobody who is paying for the game is gonna switch(and restart from 0) to the free 2 play server afterwards, before they do that the either quit the game or dont even bother buying it … maybe i am wrong and there are player who will do this but i think most of them wont like to lvl up from 0 to 250 or what cap will be…

me and my friends were really hyped for the game and i loved it how it played (in ICBT) but i dont see a bright future for that if IMC is continuing to do stuff like that …

in my eyes the more i know about the game like that u only can reset your skills buy buying TP with real money … thats a reeeaaallllyy big fat slap into the communities face, the less i wanna play it … that makes me really sad and properly i really dont know if i want to buy a game with a splitt community like that… the ones who are willing to pay to play this game and then the ones who cannot afford or dont want to afford the game and maybe try it out free to play … thats not good at all to build up a good and stable community for a MMO …

… because even if there is a slight change in your skills and the one u uses gets nerfed to hell … u have to pay money to respec properly … thats really really sad …

I dont want to give a hate speech, i loved the game how it played how it reminded me of Ragnarok the art style awesome but, i really have to say that these founder packs are splitting the communitie sooo brutally that it wont be good for the Games Life span and for IMC because i think they will lose Alot of potential players there… and on top of that that they dont know how to properly release that game on steam making it even worse.

sorry for the long post

Greets Rin

… did you post on the wrong thread?

maybe i only a concerned fan of the game and want to be heard cause i am really sad about what they are doing right now and dont really want to believe that its true that this game is charging money for stuff like respecing and then they dont even get a proper release into steam …sorry i was like in a write flow … and after i posted i though hm… maybe to much

People will switch, since it’s only a month afterall. Most of them will be those who play casually in the Founders (Me) just incase there’s no server transfer service, and a few others will switch just to play with their friends.

This is normal for MMO’s; you should consider yourself lucky if you’re playing a game that lets you reset your skills anytime with in-game currency. There’s nothing wrong with charging people a small fee to change their entire build or fix their own mistakes.

okay sorry for beeing a bit curious but in WOW u can respec every time u want for like 1 ingame gold in blade and souls u can respec your spec every time u want without any restriction

in Aoin it was possible with ingame currency in Wildstar its possible to respec all the time u want for a small INGAME currency fee xD

so now tell me its normal for mmos to not be able to respec xD hahaha wtf

every MMO i played it was possible okay maybe korean style games not but even in RO u could respec for a rater big fee of ingame currency so xD dont know i cannot remember any MMO where i cannot respec for a small or even a big ingame fee xD

Read his post fully and don’t only cut into things that you think are wrong man.

That guy made a good point I believe. I mean it’s been said time and time again that the Rift between play now and play later will create so much problem that it is better off not exist in the first place

Also about the skill respec there are a lot of games that let’s us do that.

Bump IMC THIS IS AN URGENT MATTER, DON’T YOU CARE?

The game will get an unjust bad review.

Kind of unfortunate this is necessary but we can’t expect everyone’s reading comprehension of English for an international game to be stellar.

It’s listed right under [IMPORTANT] under “about this content” on the pages for the DLC pack —
People aren’t even reading about what they are buying I guess? That’s wild…
(They probably think it’s just the picture that’s above it or something.)

But yes, I totally agree they should also place the Early Access and f2p dates on the main page!!

@avc_largebanana You’re right — & especially from IMC’s pov it should not be the customers fault.

Me as a fellow customer though…? I kinda have to give em that side eye.
haha > . >

What’s even more wild is that people never actually read EULA, but then again everyone does that.

They need to put it right where people notice and it’s never been the customer fault for missing something like that. I think.

Some within this decade that I know of: Black Desert Online, Echo of Soul, Spirit Tales, Dragon Nest, Wakfu. So yes, just like there’s games that let you do in-game, there’s also games that give you one during a job change and after that you have to buy it from the Cash Shop. Sure, it’d be nice if we got free ones in-game outside of major patches, but it’s not a necessity.

We get to see the skills and descriptions of classes in-game before we change to them, and see the effects of how much your specific-stats will raise when you put in stat points before you even confirm it. These things will help players from making obvious mistakes.

This isn’t 2006 Banana; I only cut his post like that because those were the specific points I was responding to. People can click the drop-down arrow on the quote to display the entire post, and click the up-arrow to instantly be taken to his whole post on the thread. Doing it that way looks much better than this:

I disagree with part of what you just said.

See? Much neater on the thread when it’s quote-cut. I don’t want NiiHZ to come back here and see dozens of walls of text posts flooding his thread, and people tend to not even read threads if the posts are all too big.

Oh wow that’s not what I meant, how can you interpret it that way that’s absurd lol.

What I meant is, not about the amount of word a person quotes, it’s about the amount of information they are talking about. for example when a person is talking about gender equality and the person talking mentioned burger in his long post then the other person isn’t supposed to talk only about the burger because he don’t like it. The burger was part of the analogy that will in turn make the argument complete.
Do you get me?

good points i appreciate that thanks for the reasonable response xD i find it hard to find people who accually dont say stop qq and u are a noob thanks for giving me hopes for this community

and yeah u are right that are games u cannot reset but the skill and stat and gear progression in Blackdesert for example is totally different than in any other mmo like u can really skill what u want it dos not matter u are not bound to some build because if u wanna change your playstyle ,u just have to change your sockets in your equipment and stuff like that like, the talents wont really affect the dmg of that paticullar skill it only changes the way u want to play

Blackdesert is one of the MMOs where u have to most freedom of choice i ever saw.

Well, you’re lucky you weren’t here during the first 2 and a half weeks of this month. The forum delved into absolute cancer where everyone bashed each others opinion on the spot.

I know what you mean, I just don’t see how that applies in this exact situation; there’s no analogies or examples in his whole post that I quoted.

Part of his post was worried that nobody who bought the Founders pack would switch from the Founders server to the new F2P one on F2P launch, and I reassured him that some people would and gave him reasons. Then another part he felt that having to buy skill resets with TP was a slap in the face, and I reassured him (afterwards) with examples of games that did this and were still popular and described how the game handles ‘previews’.

The date Mar 18 is everywhere on the steam page, and IMC already explained why Steam forced them to do that.

So the date Mar 28th needs to be bigger, bolder, and more obvious to prevent confusion for anyone who isn’t an active follower of ToS.

#Exclusive Access to Founder’s Servers will begin Mar 29,2016#

And now our community is doing the best work white knights can do. Defending this ■■■■ with constant “Oh.my.god.read the page it’s right in pain sight through a link and down near the bottom or 6 lines down. Are you blind. Wow.how can you be so stupid. You should definitely play this game, we’re its core members.”

Hahahaha, bunch of scrubs.

It’s like signing a contract without reading the content. Am I really going to play with bunch of kids. >.<

If you’re going to buy something, make sure you have checked the products carefully (yes i’m generalizing). You don’t just buy then complain. You go check everything then buy.

Just wait a little longer, it’s not like you will not be able to play the game.

So you’re blaming the customers because IMC didn’t add enough information on the page they’re selling it on? ALRIGHTY THEN

OP is smart and good, and this is definitely going to dent sales.

IMC, the sooner you fix this, the less financial damage you’ll suffer.
