Swordsman 3 are for those melee who are full offensive so they dont need guard. Its against their gungho philosophy.

what i thought of doing is taking rodelro at rank 7 instead of dragoon and then lancer at rank 8 because what i found is that all of rodelero skills can be used while mounted and with rodelero you get the C block too
Thing is, #1 catagoon is still sword c3
I can understand why but it’s not for me, I like having the pelt and hop in my build if only to make things easier in PvE (and obviously both still have benefit in PvP), at the end of the day, as long as I’ll still be able to be useful in GvG as a Lancer, I won’t complain, not looking to top the leaderboards here.
i guess your right, but i still am confused between str and dex,
it seems like you need both, you need dex for accuracy and evasion since the best catas now emphasize their builds on high con and dex but now with the str buff it makes things more confusing im waiting for more comments maybe a different insight
full str doesn’t seem like a guy idea to me, just like full dex is.
So that means sw3 is still better in general i guess. I think sw2 pelt better in some cases tho like against physical but thats pretty obvious.
Anyways options are good.
Sw3 need their platform to shine as well.
imo, peltasta might be slightly better when you face scout archers (like scout fletchers or scout muskets) it might also be better for dex builds with the 18% evasion, the block helps during their cloaking time, which is why i am going with a lot of con (in addition to str or dex which im trying to figure out) and i plan on going rodelero at rank 7, (rodeleros get acces to shield block AND 5 stuns which can be used mounted just from the 1st circle) into lancer
still confused about dex and str though.
I mean, my thinking is (and I’m heavily focusing on lancer obviously) is Lancer’s job seems to be to break through the lines and disrupt/kill mages. You can break magic circles and rush through enemies, the problem is, PvP mages are loaded up on con and you can’t dodge magic damage, so to me, having a high str/con build makes sense for getting to and killing mages and in the process disrupting aoe on choke points, allowing the rest of your team to get in and kill the leftovers/guild tower. So I guess my envisioned build is more of a mage killer than anything.
(I’m approaching this from a WoE standpoint like in RO since the GvG battles appeear to be structured somewhat similarly)

yes, i am generally against FULL builds for pvp
for pve, you can justify full str with crit rate gems or full dex with crit attack gems
but for pvp, full dex or full str are jut both bad imo
even after the str buff
Honestly this archer hit the evasion cap against him which is 85% i think.
He kinda lucked out cuz he can guard lolz otherwise i think he would get wrecked.
i am going for a weird and different path of rodelero at rank 7 into r8 lancer, so much utility which can be used while mounted
