After Character Lodge->Loading Screen->Game Crashes/Error

ALREADY SENT THIS TICKET LAST NIGHT.
Got so frustrated with the support since all they told me to do was the standard verify integrity of game cache. WHICH I have mentioned that I have already done. The reply felt really automated like they didn’t even bother to read the description. I wouldn’t mind them not having a solution but at least show a bit of concern and be a bit personal since we all know not one size fits all.

Description :

Would log into the game and my account cannot go past the character lodge after the loading screen, tried using a different account and it didnt seem to have the same problem as it was able to do mercenary missions fine. Tried logging in my account into a different client/pc, and yet it still was not able to get past the loading screen again.

Couldn’t seem to find a solution, tried

• verifying integrity of cache and repairing/restoring,
• uninstalling-installing,
• deleting xml files,
• editing xml files (resolution change)
• checking-unchecking DLC

but nothing seems to work. I don’t have any addons so that is out of the problem. This has been an issue for quite some time now as what I’ve seen in the forums and with friends, but only got the problem recently.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

1)Log-in Steam

2)Open ToS

3)Enter Lodge-goes into loading screen

4. loading screen loads until around 90% and then the game crashes with the error as shown in the screenshot

Open Release folder. Delete all the XML file types. Then Verify Game Cache Integrity. Tell me if it worked.

whenever I try doing this, my game now gets stuck at launcher. lol.

If that does not work, next step would be to do a clean installation. That is after you uninstall TOS, you also need to delete the TOS folder inside the Steam Common folder and then install a new one.

my alt is able to login just fine.

but my main account can only go up to here before the loading screen. tried every char at every channel, and none of them can go in. they’re all in Fedimian/Mercenary Post. Tried logging in with my alt in Fedimian as well, and yet I didnt get any problems.

I’ve had that same problem a few weeks ago. Does TOS have something like an “appdata” folder? Please help. :(

Can you try deleting all the XML files again and reverify cache integrity? http://imgur.com/gigpRQd

The reason why you cannot log in on your main is because those XML files got corrupted when your computer crashed while you’re playing your main. If you’ve done all the steps correctly, try copying a “working” TOS folder like what I did from my brother’s computer. Else, reformat is the last resort.

or do I go and delete the other xml files in the release folder, like serverlist_recent, hotkey, hotkey_user, etc.

and I just noticed I have a lot of stackdump_client_tos text files. got 56 of these files with different dates and times, I’m assuming theyre the times when I tried and yet the game does the error.
