Advice? Is this a good/decent build?

SwordsMan C1 -> Thrust, Gung Ho, Concentrate. Lvl 5.
Peltasta C1 -> Umbo blow, Swash Buckling, Guardian. Lvl 5.
Hoplite C1, C2 -> Pierce, Finestra. Lvl 10, Long Stride, Spear Lunge. Lvl 5.
Corsair C1 -> Jolly Roger, Iron Hook, Keel Hauling. Lvl 5
Doppelsoeldner C1 -> Deeds of Valor, Double Pay Earn, Cyclone. Lvl 5.
Templar C1 -> Build Guild Tower, Reduce Craft Time, Battle Orders. Lvl 5.

(PvE) High STR
STR 3 : 1 DEX
CON: All the points acquired from statues, quests, etc.

I settled on this as a rough draft of sorts after reading through Cathexis’s guild on swordman builds.

I was kind of torn with swordsman tbh. I love swords, but I love high crt rates. In the end I decided on using a spear so I could use the Finestra buff. I’ve fairly confident in my buff selection for the skills, but I’m unsure about my attack selection. (Mainly I dunno how well I’ll be able to use combos like Keel Haul and Spear Lunge.) I also didn’t know if unlock chest was any real use? So I decided against it. I’d like to open a guild at some point so I opted to have Templar be my rank 7 class. I can always build a new swordsman character later if I decide something else would be better.

I was trying to go for a tank/dps build that focused on some support abilities as well. To be good for soloing, and great for teaming up with people. (Thus skills like Swash Buckling, and Jolly Roger were more my focus).

Any advice for this kind of build? Critic? As long as I didn’t make any large errors in making this I’ll probably go with this for my first character.

So… a templar build.

Well, you’re pretty much just gonna be tanking with that char. Might as well take those points out of dex and put it into con.

Your damage is gonna be mediocre as a templar since you forfeit a rank 7 class. So I suggest you ditch the doppelsoeldner and corsair and get either cataphract or squire.

Hello.

It’s great that you’re going with a Templar build.

I will be honest and say that most templar builds go either full tank (Rodelero C1 and c2 after Hoplite) or tank support (Squire C1 and C2 after Hoplite).

The Rodolero gets Slithering at C2, which is a 10-second 100% block against magic on a 28-second CD. This is honestly more useful at high levels than the corsair’s dps or doppelsoeldner aoe.

The alternative is to build as Squire for Weapon Maintenance and Arrest. Arrest is used to hold enemies in place, while Weapon Maintenance actually provides significant damage increase for characters with multi-hit abilities. Plus, you get to earn money on your off-times, which is great if you spend more time on your alt than on your templar.

You also save skill points if you stay in the same class. So I would advise you to save 5 points from your Hoplite C1 so you can immediately level your Finestra to lv.10 at C2. It’s a huge difference and helps a lot to get a 100% uptime on Finestra the moment you hit Hoplite C2. Do the same for Rodelero so you can get Slithering faster too.
