I think this would help a lot in tanking, soloing and PVP. Since magic cant miss while doing a lot of damage. I think this would bring a little bit of balance in the game.

I don’t mean anything negative if this sounds sarcastic, but, there are more armor types than plate. If you feel you’re lacking in the mdef department then you can wear cloth type armor. Enhancing cloth armor will increase the pdef values up to where plate is while still giving you additional mdef found innately on the item.
Additionally only your chest slot affects your overall armor type so you can swap out different chests when facing different batches of enemies map to map to maximize your additional resistances to specific types of damage.
You can also enhance your accessories for additional mdef.
tl;dr- Title of thread is “Add magic defense to chest and leg equipments” and solution is “They already do” lol =P
what i was trying to say is that all chest and leg equipments should have both physical and magical defenses by default. the rates would depend on the type of equipment. clothes have more magical over physical. whist plates have the opposite. upgrading your equipment would only increase the default stats and not the bonus.
This way, at the very least, one class isnt starved with magical defense.
Why not? That is the whole point of having classes in the first place. Each has weakness of some sort, why dumb it down?
have you reached the higher levels yet? its already hard to solo when the mobs on your quests do magic and dont miss. especially if youre a swordsman with dex str build. The purpose for this suggestion is not to starve any class of magic defense. Which most plate users( most of them are swordsman) have none.
Have you seen a full CON cryokino’s CC and incredible damage?
Spoiler, they can tank both physical and magical while maintaining CC and damage without adding int. Now tell me if you think im dumbing it down.
Edit: unlike physical damage which can be nullified through dodge,miss,and block. magic damage can only be nullified if you have INSANE property resistance.

People have played to many modern mmos where 1 armor set is all you have. They lack the knowledge of the old games.
