I’ve seen enough “This game is headed towards P2W” threads/comments. I could see all the hate threads and negative Steam reviews now.

We have to start somewhere!

It’s not a ‘MUST’, it’s a want. The only class reset I’d agree with in this game is one that only allows you to reset your latest Rank, because you don’t need to advance 2 Ranks before you realize your one before that doesn’t work the way you want it to. It’s also resetting your Class EXP back to Lvl 1 so you have to grind it back, and not just get a free pass to switch without penalty.

I understand the devs can differentiate what’s a test server and what’s original. But the players can just adopt the test server as a “Free PvP” server or whatever. Like I said, It doesn’t matter much if your character gets saved or not since you’re given everything the moment you join the server.

I do agree with you the skill descriptions are very disappointing. They are very confusing and sometimes misleading. But I think there are better solutions to this: more detailed descriptions of the skills, maybe add some sort of “video preview” of the skill, or maybe other solutions people are debating about in other topics. Adding a instant-max-level server can bring other issues to the game and I can’t think of a single MMORPG that officially added something like this to solve this sort of issue.

It doesnt have to be an actual server but a separate map. If you ever played PlanetSide2 - you could always enter “testing zone” to try out various things.

Things could work this way:

  1. you have a “Enter testing zone” button in your lodge.
  2. Pressing it will bring you to new character creation screen with “Testing zone” automatically selected as starting zone (the only option), you choose your class archetype and enter the game.
  3. You will find yourself in a room with all class masters and vendors offering every type of equipment for free.
  4. There are also several ways to other rooms containing various types monsters that will give TONS of exp.
  5. Testing character is automagically deleted when you move to character select or log out.
  6. You are automagically disconnected (with character deletion) if you leave “Testing zone” by any other means.

wtf im talking to u, what a lame interpretation of resets,u probally dont understand these things, and its lame people like u talk about it, did u make a lame build and so u dont want others to reset? or wait, have u found a build tahts working now? let me tell u, it will be nerfed for sure, and if u agree iwth it, cool for u, keep making/deleting char do it all over again, i have no time for this. if u like it it should be enough for u, me i want reset mine, and keep upgrading the character i made.

That would work, although I’m halfway on the fence of allowing a player to play a fully progressed character in a game like this from very beginning. But, it’s more feasible than a sep-server or a TP reset potion.

Bokor? Nerf’d?

Also, I don’t play a class because it’s “Strong”-- I play it because it’s fun. Games are mainly about having fun afterall. Sorry if that makes me “lame”.

I also did agree to one class reset function, and that’s the one that only lets you reset your latest Rank and the class EXP is reset to Lvl 1. There’s your reset; you can’t rewind time and re-pick Rank 4 and you have to work for your class levels back.

That seems like a completely pointless and foolish idea, why add premium servers that they have to pay for and will only be used by a small amount of people who you can add a simple class reset potion and charge for it

no thats the point, u dont play a role for the fun, otherwise u would enjoy try something else, u loser, im just typing fast dont comes with u poor excuse about english, the fact is u dont need these things reset stuffs, u are noob player, u dont make u builds u copy em, mine is just awesome and im almost hiting 280 if i want try something else its my point, i dont say i want start another character for it. im not that loser, reset stuffs work in all actual game we have, i see no point in not having it here. also by far in the hunting boss, Bokor get invited, so ok u have to progress a little more in the game, to see how lame bokor are xD end game.

I will say this once again, are you a moron… no one in the history of ever goes into a room in a game to test a skill that he cant ever show anyone that he got gear he obtained cool looking sword, REMEMBER YOU ARE ALONE IN THIS TEST SERVER ITS JUST YOU A FEW MOBS AND ANY SKILL IN THE GAME TO TEST.

Have you ever used a test server?, anything you do there is meaningless and a waste of time, other than to learn of what to do and what not to do in the actual Live Server…

So you get punished twice?, One for choosing a terrible class that doesn’t synchronize with another class?, or for undetailed skills saying one thing but doing another?. Two for wanting a fix for a blunder they made due to terrible synchronization and shoddy details on skills?, I don’t know about you man but if a company sells me a car and tells me it goes forward when I hit the gas but when I hit the gas it goes in reverse, I demand a redo on that deal.

Marvel Heroes does this all the time, gives you max lvl characters and max gear to test out bugs skills characters team up ect ect… I used it EVERY time a new hero came out and it saved me time and money…

That doesn’t solve anything and besides, it’s a pretty archaic solution to a general lack of the information the game provides about classes (not to mention the part where nobody can guess what will happen to classes in future in terms of buffs/nerfs/reworks).

Nope. Because you still have lvls, and new job and ranks being added. Test servers are nothing new and most legit MMO companies have them, maybe IMC has a in-house one but doubt it.

So how do people test how well their skills will do in PvP? How do you test multiple characters skill combos like Ice wall + Energy blast? Oh you don’t? Guess we’re back to square one.

If the purpose of this server is to test stuff I guess it’s not really doing it’s job very well.

And again, I still feel this spoils the game too much.

What did you want to level up a power heavy class to 14 and suddenly have the entire rank at near max level at your fingertips? No, you should relevel. No one sold you anything so your metaphor doesn’t really makes sense. Everyone likes to rag on the lack of skill details but maybe that’s the problem? Why can’t we update skill descriptions? Why do we have to just reset?

he thinks the server is full of people with active pvp elements full game maps and people to converse with… like I said if he bothered to read my post instead of assume something all would have been cleared.

No, I expect to make research about the class I’m investing time into, I want to test drive my car before purchasing it like my previous example stated, when did I said reset, I said “TEST” server where it spawns you and only you in a small map with different scenario mobs and you can play with all the skills and test the path you wish to take on the live server, this way you can like or dislike or make changes to your decisions so you don’t end up at lvl 250 and regretting a decision you knew nothing about since descriptions / bugs ruined the decision you made. Why is this so hard to comprehend…
