i like the soundtrack so far. correct me if i’m wrong, did this game won an award for the soundtrack? or was it the art style?
I think they won an award for the art style at G-Star 2014. CMIIW.
But they should win an award for their soundtrack too.
im in love with so many already ;__;
soundTeMP just keeps making me cry since RO, such beauty.
Same maker of the Soundtrack of RO right?
@SyntEXE : Yes, soundTeMP did it. If you like them, you can check out their Wikipedia page for an exhaustive listing of the games they covered.
Not all of them are from SoundTeMP. In fact, I’m pretty sure most of these are from S.F.A, which I am now a personal fan of. Other artists include ESTi, Questrosound, and Symphonix.
@Kiyoshiro Yes, I’m impressed that all those sound studios can provide great musics that seen to be done by the same person. They all cover a wide selection of themes but still carry a familiar feeling to each one.
It’s good. Definitely above average on game standards and many(some don’t add up well) are theme-fitting.
I do find myself very bored with some of these pieces, even though I know they’re meant to be field/town/boss music.
I imagine the pieces will lose meaning as I play the game because they’re used in a way that seems like they will be tied to tedious moments in the game rather than meaningful story pieces.
Of course I can’t say this with absolute certainty. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong. (I would like to be, in this case)
I enjoy most of the songs. It just seems a bit game-generic right now.
I have much more respect for game music when the music actually defines the game by itself.
Case in point ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7m02ol8fDk (for you maplestory players)
I can easily confuse ToS music with many other games that I enjoyed.
TLDR
Good music.
Fitting music.
Memorable music.
ToS missed the third one, slightly.
(even with a lot of time, it’ll likely feel generic to me. perhaps with time)
I’m not about to go overboard and say anything along these lines,
I’M IN LOVE
THIS IS AWARD-WINNING
IT’S THE BEST
IT’S PERFECT
IT’S BETTER THAN EVERYTHING
BEST GAME MUSIC EVER
for it would be over-romanticized and highly inaccurate.
It is none of these things to me and if the soundtrack I’m listening to ever turns out like this, I’ll have known I am living in a world where the variety and broadness of music and taste is incredibly limited.
p.s. Sorry. (yes, I am making fun of people who do this, even if I understand what they’re getting at)
(not intended as an insult or to be mean, I just like to point out how meaningless these forms of comments are in hopes that people I enjoy content with will come to acknowledge better, more meaningful ways to praise our common joys with greater precision and a higher degree of respect for the material as mediums. I don’t enjoy conversations about the things I like to just go "OMG YES THIS IS THE BEST< OMG SO BEAUTIFUL. It makes the praise feel empty and I often very much skip over these comments because I have nothing of interest to read from such, they don’t seem to carry much weight or depth.)
(I apologise, of course. I will not repeat this. Feel free to report me if it suits you, I do believe that I did violate a rule, even if apologies were offered, it’s not an excuse.)
nahh dont worry at all your opinion is really apreciated
about the part that you say
“I do find myself very bored with some of these pieces, even though I know they’re meant to be field/town/boss music.

hmmmmm i guess its supposed to be like this… like… not every moment in the game is going to be enjoyable or a meaningful part of the story for exemple if you’re in the middle of the desert the theme song may make you feel hot and tired, its not going to be one of your favorites like the city themes or the ones you hang out with friends etc
in ToS i just really like that they seem to be very well made. not necessarily the best in the whole world as well lol
Also l’ve read an interview with Meggie the art director and she was saying that tree of savior is supposed to create an atmosphere of decay, its a pretty dark game and I like the sensation soundtemp’s giving through their music ^-^
thats just what i think o/
Well, this is a perfection, I liked it
It’s pretty enjoyable for the most part. But honestly I was expecting more relaxing, simple, yet memorable pieces, most of them sounds so high tension for me.
And Symphonix’s works sounds really repetitive and similar to each other for me. Maybe it’s just because I’m one of those people who can’t understand the appeal of UNTZ music though.
i really like it, i thought triste is also a town, but seems to be not, is also one of my favorite, specially bonjour triste at 3:39 its such nice little tune, i dont like the rest of the song, but the end, its like its a different song
I havent listened the songs yet. . any recommendations for me?? or link?
does the songs are divided by each or compiled together?
uh anyway. . could I download those BGMs? just listened and they are great!!!
if my post is inappropriate, I will delete it. . thank you
