- Additional damage dealt with Palm Strike, equivalent to the enemy’s defense
- Additional damage dealt with Hand Knife, equivalent to the enemy’s INT stat
Sounds good but this damage scale completely with the target int / def or scale with the skills levels? If it were the first then one point would be enough for both.
I would also like to talk about Iron skin, for the rest I think this needs much more revision than golden shield.
The class is hybrid and its damage is not very high but it is compensated with healing, however I do not see that this equation feels good when playing on 240+ level maps, since incoming damage can become very explosive, and even it may be healing for the monk it loses performance by trying to killings the mobs at the same time as it tries to heal, and unfortunately, ends up trying to heal damage and run rather than inflict damage on this supposed damage-healing balance equation. This is where supposed enter iron skin skill, where the reflected damage can compensate the low damage output that the monk does with double punch and AA (I say “low” because I compared the damage with other classes dedicated to it). Of course, it must be considered that this ability is restricted to a time of reuse (CDs), and of course, it is not a source of sustained damage, which is why monk class cant compete agains the sustaided damage from other damage dealers classes, wich is good.
It would be thanks to iron skin where we would find a balance and more pleasant PVE experience, where a rework of this ability in terms of CD and types of damage percentage (physical, physical distance, magic) would be reflected. Since the future adjustment of the reduction of the CD in golden shield to 14 sec is great, but nevertheless I find it situational unless there was someone else in the group who inflicted damage, which does not fit on solo leveling scenario. Double punch can do the job but to a certain extent. The magical damage can become very painful and the double punch damage is not enough against elite mobs and their magical damage, besides the reuse times of healing are not enough and you end up running away. This is the perfect setting for using iron skin as an “oh ■■■■” button with an adjustable reuse time for complicated pve scenarios.
So please reconsider review iron skin much more than golden shield. Hardening of the body and the mind is part of the philosophy of monk, but dont forget the playable terms and performance, and in those points i see iron skin deserves much more the revision and rework than lowering the CD to golden shield and giving additional damage attributes to palm strike and hand knife.
