I didn’t say that lol.
…
Steam = China
China = Everything made in China
You understand now? Without steam, there won’t even be PC gaming in this world.
Only 897? Thats quite little don’t you think? about 7.7 million players are on as of now and only for those who are online as of now http://store.steampowered.com/about/ and only received 900 reports while over half of them are because they can’t log in due to their lack of internet/comp specs? while ToS received over 20,000 bugs reports in their CB with limited players? What a joke you’re trying to point out. I really do hope they don’t make a separate login so some fools like you can leave the steam community.
The only thing I hate about Steam is when the server suddenly down for a few hours in my region, especially when I was playing multiplayer games such as Dota 2. But this rarely occurs, so I guess it’s not much of a problem.
You meant Dota 2 server. Steam server is never down.
Just give steam a try first, it’s actually pretty nice
Oh, so that was Dota 2 server. My bad then.
Players shouldn’t be uneasy with steam.
It might seem scary at first being that you are not familiar. But its quite nice to have as a gamer.
Only thing I didn’t like as a new user was the ninja updates on Dota 2, but that could be easily changed.
Steam is great. I don’t care if the game is exclusive to Steam or not, but if it is, fine by me. I like having all of my computer games on my Steam account.
Steam is literally never down for maintenance, sure the community might be but that will never prevent you from playing non-steam games such as TOS.
Going by the fact that ToS uses xml files and we can simply take a look. It seems so far it doesn’t have any steamworks integration. Both the server list and patcher connect to the Amazon servers. So that will probably mean you will have to make a ToS account instead of using the Steam one since they haven o Steamworks then they’ll link them via steam so loging into steam logs you into your account.
The downside of not using steam works, it seems there will be no steam market so as far as it’s in now. You won’t be able to buy or sell your items via steam like you would for say Dota 2 or TF2
It could also be so that it won’t be the same as the first Ragnarok.
Because it would be pretty hard to bot in a game connected to steam, right?
Botters in Ragnarok always ticked me off back then.
Does steam tied game prevent or greatly reduced botting in MMO?
A few points…
- The majority of Steam games can be run outside of Steam. Even if they’re not supposed to be, the kind of person who would bot on a server would have the knowledge and ethics to fool the client into letting them run it outside of Steam.
- I find it unlikely that Tree of Savior’s full release will require a Steam account to connect. More likely it will allow players to connect Steam accounts and generate ingame accounts linked to them, as many other modern online games support. There’s a chance that for some time the game will be unavailable outside of Steam but I don’t think it will stay that way.
- I’ve seen all of the complaints about Steam and they are exactly the same as the complaints about Paypal, Google, and any other sufficiently large institution. In my experience, people who get in trouble with Paypal, Steam, etc. always did something wrong and are reaping the consequences. For instance, it’s historically a common practice to pay artists who draw commissions by sending the money as a gift through Paypal. That is fraud and a breach of contract; Paypal will shut down both accounts for doing so, and will be entirely in the right, other than that Paypal will most likely not tell you why your account has been suspended.
Good question. But you might get banned, on both, the game and steam.

Even people “selling/giving” keys could be banned from steam.
I’m more concern with botting will ruin the game like many other MMORPG. If steam or any other extreme method can reduced botting, I won’t mind the hassle to play the game.
I think it will somehow. Because generally speaking steam account owners tend to have more games(i have few games).
How can i put it to you…
Steam sell tons of other games, and its just good to have ToS there too, so i can have all my game sin just one place.
But if i bot on “ToS” i could be banned from steam, and that risky, because i will lose all my games there.
That doesn’t really solve anything, you can make as many steam accounts as you want and Steam/Valve (For VAC protected games) won’t ban your IP even if you cheat in one of their games.
It’s basically the same thing as anywhere else, except from the fact of your main account having the most games and so on.
Yeah I’m just hoping

Hijacking or Sharing Accounts
Do not use Steam accounts which you did not create.
This means I better not share my account with my friend just to get her to try ToS?
Hopefully it will be only on Steam. ToS is going to be heavily botted like Ragnarok otherwise.
