I think the idea of somehow controling the inflation of items is good, but in the end it feels more frustrating than anything. There could be a range of time before the equipment starts losing potential with trading. Right now there is no incentive to farming as a group, for example. If your friend drops that equip you really wanted you’ll lose 1 potential even if he transfer it to you right away. The team storage potential lose, in other hand, is just dumb, specially for a game with so many levels and so many different builds. It’s not even like you could use the same set of equipments in different characters, it’s not like your level 150 Cleric equips are gonna be useful for your newly made level 10 Archer. It’s one more thing that discourages making new characters and experimenting different builds. Not to mention that, since it’s impossible to team storage silver, you’ll lose 2 potential simply by buying some equip from market with your richer character for your other character.
I really dislike the potential system, but if it got tweaked I could at least tolerate it. But the way it is right now I feel like I’m just playing a single player game, the only interaction I had with other players so far is buying some material for recipes once in a while and getting annoyed by some of the players attitudes.
Not to mention that, for a system so directly connected to the game economy, it’s even more frustrating since the economics part is a mess with all the trading, storaging and market restrictions, and with the impossibility of trading silver. The only people who don’t seem to be affected in any negative way by all these systems are the silver sellers and bots that continue doing their thing (even now that they have to pay to play, I don’t even wanna think what it’s gonna be like once it’s f2p)
