About mounts mechanics

If I get new mount, is it just added as new character?

I want to clarify that, because if it is that way, then it means that being a class that uses mount and investing in my current default mount is a waste of money and time, if I am going to use premium mount in the future right?

Upgrading mount costs tons of silver, and when I switch mount it will all be for nothing?

In other words, you shouldn’t play a class that can mount now, because in order to benefit from a mount you will need to stay with the ugly one that you invested silver in? Or just play without mount and be underpowered until the one you want comes out in premium shop?

Each companion, whether you use it as a mount or not, takes up one character slot.

As you may know, only a handful of stats carry over from the companion when mounting (25% of its max hp, and 8% of its def and evasion). Your current default mount is not a wasted investment, that mount has the highest HP available right now, and has a little less def and eva than the Hoglan, but not that much.

I don’t know which “premium” companions you are referring to, but if you’re talking about companions that guilds will (eventually) be able to raise through the pet raising guild skill, such as toucan and guinea pig, their stats are not better as far as being used as a mount, and I don’t even know if you’ll be able to mount them.

In my opinion it is worth investing silver in raising your current mount’s HP, and stick to it. Or do like me, and get two of the same to raise team level, one for normal play and one for farming sessions when the stat boosts are not important but your lower level companion will get exp from these low mobs

Hope this helps!

It matters, because 25% of companion’s HP is extreme boost in high level dungeons. If I get that big of a boost, I can focus my stats more on damage, and still have enough HP in Earth Tower to have decent survivability.

And the point of this is, that it costs a lot of silver to increase mount’s HP, because the price of pet trainer grows exponentially. I don’t even know where the cap is at this stat, because I haven’t seen anyone who was able to afford getting there.

So it appears there is no point in spending a small fortune to increase HP on my ugly Hoglan, if I am going to get Red Panda, Pig, or any other new mount that will be released in premium shop sooner or later. All silver wasted. So my option is to stay weaker and benefit less from being mounted, and keep silver for better mount. That is what I wanted to clarify.

I think you either didn’t read my reply or misunderstood it completely

  1. No way to know from your original post that you have a Hoglan, you mentioned “default” mount, which I assumed was Velheider since it’s the one you receive as a free mount when you turn cataphract.

  2. As I mentioned, there is no “premium” mount. All the other mounts, besides the two we have, are obtained through guild taming. Just not yet here.

  3. Once again, as I said, Velheider has the biggest HP of all, guild mounts included. See image below:

So here’s a very simple and short answer for you once again: get Velheider if you don’t have it, boost its HP. That’s it.

Hope it helps!
