About Grinding and Monster Exp

Hello there. I’ve been playing this game since it’s first CBT day, and I’d like to talk about what I think about the current Exp Reward from quests and monsters.

I believe that the current exp reward from monsters is very unbalanced. Comparing some lv 90~130 monsters with some low level monster like Pawnd, the difference in exp is just ridiculous, and even with the “experience reset” in the current exp table (I found it quite interesting), it’s still pretty damn hard to grind. Once you reach level 100, forget about quests and try grinding for a bit. After a few lvs you will notice that a lot of monsters will give less than 0,1% with rare exceptions, those being quite rare. C’mon, that is half way to current max level, and supposedly, the max level cap will get a lot higher.
A lot of people have been asking for a harder leveling system, with lower rates etc. However, I was thinking about the actual release of this game. What will be the max level? I’ve heard 300, 400, 500, even 600. With a max level of 600, do you guys really thing that it needs to get harder? I don’t think so. Please, share your thoughts with me.

i kinda agree with you about this.

unless 10x exp staking shop items can be bought, this will be taking forever. and even then it becomes a pay to win…

The biggest problem in my opinion is that they limit the exp monster give to you depending on your level. I have noticed that, with my lv 80 cleric, it doesn’t matter if i kill a lv 80 monster or a lv 95, they all give pretty much the same ammount of experience. I think that is unfair, if i manage to kill a lv 120 monster with my level 80 i should get full ammount of exp it provides, not just a percentage of it.

we should rewarded for taking on the difficult challenge! not get diminished returns.

Entirely agree, honestly, I agree that there should be some sort of grind, imo I strongly, strongly, STRONGLY dislike grinding but other people do like it so it does need to be some part of the game, but everytime I come onto my lvl 75 I feel like I dont put a dent in it whatsoever, I finished mausoleum and now I have no quests cause ive been everywhere thats lvl 90 and below, so I have to grind. It honeslty feels like i’m not going anywhere, I was so excited for this game and I don’t mind a little grind but i’d rather not spend my entire day grinding to only get a couple levels, there needs to be fine line in which im actually able to progress cause atm I don’t really feel like going on cause theres nothing to do but kill hundreds of monsters that do absolutely nothing but waste my time

To grind in this game, get a full party, find a good spot/area/room rotation to grind, and u will see ALOT more xp flood in. Need more XP? ■■■■ your skills attributes so you can start overkilling, get the mob low hp, use a high dmg skill and aim for 255% overkills. The XP from grinding increases rapidly by doing this. IMC is kinda wanting people to group up with grinding. Test it yourselves. This is currently why some classes are really OP at leveling however, but that same advantage can be kept by inviting those classes into your group, and even enchance them.

A Barb (prolly best overkiller ingame atm) with a full dmg buff priest, farm huge amounts of xp together. Find a spot where u can kill groups of 14+ mobs at a time with good respawn and rest is easy. The problem atm isnt the xp from mobs, its the lack of mobs in zones tbh. They need to increase the amount of mobs and their respawn rates accordingly. This benefits everyone, you still have to work and earn those levels, but the rate you do it is increased, merely increasing the reward removes the amount of time and work involved in doing so. Also, the more mobs ingame, more chance for shiney loots and materials. Everyone wins with that approach.

It’s not about increasing xp from mobs, it’s about not setting an arbitrary diminishing return. Grinding should have 3 options:

1- You go to an area with monsters stronger than you and with the help of a party, potions or simple player skill you kill a few monsters for lots os xp.
2- You stay in an average area where you can grind regularly without too much or any support.
3- You go to an easy area where you can kill lots of monsters in a short amount of time.

Neither of these options should be wrong, but right now you can only chose the second.

I know that there are some nice spots, but again, only a few monsters give decent ammount of exp. usually only one per map, being the only ones really worth the kill. Also, the ammount of exp that monsters give barely increases with their level, making it harder to grind sometimes, even with the experience reset, which makes me feel like i’m forced to rely on quests until grinding becomes the only option left. I wish we could rely on both options at any time, but I respect your opinion

and the penalty due to level difference makes it harder as there are some maps that’s just not worth the try due to strong monsters giving low exp reward. as I said to njkooper, it makes me feel like i’m forced to rely on quests until grinding becomes the only option left. I wish we could rely on both options at any time, or at least in the three grinding options you gave me XD

entirely agree with you
