About Gameplay, Bots and Money

This will be like a summary of some suggestions but also a new thing which is up for discussion.

Player Rating

In my opinion it would be very interesting if you could dislike/report players just by right click button press - the same way as liking. The number of dislikes should not be visible to public to prevent mobbing and be reduced in certain intervals like every day so that you can achieve a clean score by behaving good. It should work as a kind of reminder that nobody wants a toxic environment.
But after a certain (high) threshold of dislikes one should be flagged with a red skull which means this character is an outlaw and can be attacked by every other player but can not attack without being attacked first.
Think about it.

  1. Someone blocks a spawn with auto attack macro all day long to farm silver and annoys people trying to do their hunting. He will receive a high number of dislikes and soon gets killed and then has to live with the consequences for a day or two.
  2. Someone is toxic as ■■■■. Scams random parties, abuses spells, flames others, spams,… and collects more and more dislikes until flagged as outlaw. Now those he messed with get their revenge.
  3. Achievement for outlaw killers for a title to keep the community clean. Like a self regulated police force.
  4. Lots of fun for PVP junkies to go hunting even after end game.

Money / P2W

IMC needs money. We are talking about business here. They work and deserve to be paid for it. Remember that.
The actual system is fine but magic scrolls as P2W gamble is bad.

  1. I do not think this community pays their share through cosmetics alone. They are too greedy, that is my impression.
  2. Ever thought about premium token only user areas? That would give tokens a lot more meaning if you actually get more optional content from it. Like Orsha being premium only.
But mimimimi - stop. You can level up without Orsha just fine. It is literally optional.
Maybe you miss some equip then but it is your decision if you want to pay for more (and then probably also relaxed) content.
  3. Silver trades only with tokens. Should be enough. Then you can share loot with your party but no silver china famer undercutter market (bots).
  4. No gambling or stats via $. That leaves a sour taste and scares a lot of potential customers away.
  5. Still add cosmetics. The artists of Tree of Savior are awesome! Hands down that is a fact. Give more content value to the token and from time to time a cute pet and here we go.

Server Situation

EU here SEA there. Just tag the actual servers on release and move these to local amazon servers later on via maintenance if the population numbers show that it is worth doing so after some money rolled in and the project can go on.

// Note:
I will edit and adjust ideas depending on the comments below. Keep it flowing.

Why do I feel like multiple people will dislike my player rating to group up and kill me in-game just because of my username.

I think this is one of the best ways to encourage people to keep their token up even after they reach end game. See Tibia as an example, they survived many YEARS just selling Premium Accounts that gave essentialy access to lots of new maps, no queue and reduced deth penalty.
So yes, if IMC can make players willing to keep their token time up like that they wont need to go to the P2W way

Player rating by vote that you mention might cause problem. Eg. Some people might use number their friends/guild to dislike other people in their farming spot to have their right to attack other people and hog the area to themselve.

No, no, no, no! Putting content behind a paywall is just as bad as P2W. It is a very slippery slope.

It starts out with just a Premium town that is similar to the F2P town, but then perhaps different mobs get added to the Premium maps with different drops. I mean, why have different maps with the same mobs+drops, right?
Just… no.
Paying players shouldn’t get to farm Premium mobs and have Premium items.

I feel like it’d be better to just have an extra server where only premium token users can use. Only advantage of a premium token server would be less crowding. Still having the advantages premium token gives them, but nothing else on the server.

I like the rating suggestion, as it will help us to deal with bots without the need for GM. But, it can always be abused depending on the threshold, like a guild ganging up on a particular player.
Still a good idea tho =)

It has been proven by @Shadeborn (even if it wasn’t his intention) that scrolls aren’t actually P2W as the money needed to obtain a perfect enchant is crazy stupid. If you ask me, any stat enhancement obtainable through money is a bad idea anyway.

Money

  1. no idea about that, but your impression (and the past few days don’t help saying you’re wrong ^^)
  2. makes sense. Can be P2W tho, if maps give better xp or drop rate to add value
  3. seems reasonable with IMC’s idea to limit goldsellers (i’m all for 1:1 trade allowed)
  4. well, already answered my feeling about that
  5. obviously yes, can’t wait for Klaipedia Fashion Week

About regional servers, this is the most reasonable suggestion but depends mostly on IMC plans regarding that matter.

Maybe even more likes than dislikes?
The number has to be high enough to prevent mobbing. But in a certain light as a PVP junkie creating a char with a name that attracts dislikes could be a new way to play.

Good old times. That was my example but I am sure most people here have no clue about Tibia and if they google it everyone will wonder how that can still be alive.

Reporting seems like a good way to manage the community without the need of mods camping zones, and I think it would be a good idea to implement a list so u can choose the reason of the report, like: Innapropiate Name, Botting suspect (might have some kind of requirement, like asking him something and waiting 1 min for the answer) and etc.
