About botting - Mob Damage and Companion

Im not gonna lie, alot of games have a botting problem and while being active in banning is a key part of detering, so is gameplay design that deters botting. I’ve bot before in a games where the situation was so uncontrolled that you either bot or got left in the dust and I have worked on openKore as a programmer.

Problems:

  1. Mobs hit like a wet noodle
  2. Companions tank mobs even when dead

Currently there is no actual bot program, just autohotkey junk and sadly if autohotkey can bot your game you have made some poor choices.

Currently it does only 2 things.

  1. Push’s Z
  2. Drinks potions based on pixel detecting your hp

A bot that simply stands still and push’s Z while packs of mobs wail on it and it doesn’t die really just means that the damage mobs output is way too low. The current trend is kneel shot archers just sitting there pushing Z and drinking pots while companion helps to tank.

Another thing you may want to consider that has been done in alot of games is trap mobs. For example a red version of the stamina crystals that when attacked gives a 100% damage debuff for a minute or so and respawns in the exact same spot every minute until it goes 10m without being attacked, It would probobly have to be immune to AoE damage. Now any real bot programmer will have the bot avoid these but it’s a great measure against simple macro/autohotkey users (who you also cant heuristically ban due to legit macro users).
