About Barbarian Class Builds

I have some questions about those players experienced with the Barbarian Class. So far I’ve reached Lvl.110 with 3rd Cycle in Swordman and 1st Cycle in Barbarian.

These are the questions:

  1. Is that popular Build Swordman(1) Highlander (1) Barbarian(3) Doppelsöldner(1) with Max Dex (Cap at 210 DEX, then the rest on STR) really the best build for a Barbarian?
  2. Is it possible to make Barbarian Class a Dual Wielding Class (Sword & Dagger)?
  3. Between Leather gear and Plate gear what is the best choice for a Barbarian?

Any other tips or suggestions to help to improve with this Class are welcome!

Best build depends on what is your goal for your character. that build is the best build for a cookie cutter generic melee glass cannon.

Is it possible to make Barbarian Class a Dual Wielding Class (Sword & Dagger)?

any class can dual wield sword and dagger (except archers)

Between Leather gear and Plate gear what is the best choice for a Barbarian?

Both, wear plate for pvp and certain bosses, leather for general grinding

I see a Barbarian as Tryndamere (from League of Legends) or a viking similar to the Dovahkiin (Dragonborn) from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. So, my goal is high damage output with high critical rate/damage going in Berserk mode using Two-handed Swords or Dual Wielding axes or swords.

I think that the Barbarian skill Frenzy could be usefull If I stack it with dual attacks, but I haven’t tried it. The cheapest dagger I’ve found cost around 500k (Arde Dagger) and the other is Lv.170

you dont attack twice even when you dual wield, as far as i know you attack just as fast as with a 2h weapon.
do believe Corsair gets some perks for dual wielding though

Oh… Well. I didn’t know about that little detail. It changes the strategy almost completely. In that case just sticking with Two-handed Swords is a better and cheaper option, then.

if your going sword and dagger barbarian for end game, you might want to take petlast 1 instead of highlander to get provoke/taunt/s&b ability…you can swap between dagger and shield or 2H swrods.

but you wont have the DPS of 2H sword highlander 1.

you will still want doppel for rank6 for Cyclone attack like tryndamere.

there no axe weapon type yet ingame. but there are axe look alike 1H mace.

but isnt Olaf more viking ish than tyrandemere

Haha… Yes, that’s true. Olaf is the true Viking here. But since there are no axes (sadly) to use, but there are big Two-handed Swords, the first champion who came to my mind was Tryndamere. To make an Olaf-like I should get Pain Barrier maxed and STR + CONS.

its the best build now, in beta when max level is 200 (and your skills hit a lot more than your auto-atack). but later when they increase it to 350+ high str builds with multi-hit skills will be the way to go. even in this beta, a high str / low dex doppel can destroy bosses with cyclone
thats my opinion xD

Don’t you think a High STR Build is a lil. bit too risky without the Evasion Rate to Dodge the attacks?

you will dodge less with high str build, but now you can use highlander cross guard (scales with str) to block big hits.
you would use frenzy and warcry to increase dmg too, but i really think that barbarian as it is now will lose for circle 3 highlander easily.
buuuuut the truth is, forget about everything your know cus they are changing A LOT the things in korean version, i had a clear idea of the path i was going to take, but now i duno anything (after yesterday changes)

check this video, this is what i’m talking about when i say that high str with multihit skills will rule

of course that if u are not a hoplite u cant go full str like the guy in the video, but maybe 2:1 or 1:2 str/dex work great
