even for mergen2 it still unbalanced. With boss attacking you at >11k dmg, it is just 1-2hit away from being KO’ed. You are forced to have 20k HP to survive 1 hit/have many soul crystal/make a single perfect no dmg run for majority newbie archer who only has 10k HP because they invest in DEX only.
But would atleast have arrow sprinkle to run around and use it every 40ish seconds. Much safer than attempting multishot.
Man I want to be rank 9 already, I’m sorry I’m derailing. In my honest biased opinion go hunter 3, it’s addicting. but, will make you tear your thighs at times.
I still wonder why this game has single target focused classes when everything spawns in packs… and those single target from low rank are not that good… if it wasn’t for the CC hunter’s single target would be bad. I still hate being unable to damage bosses unless flying type.
i have mergen too and trust me, arrow sprinkle is not too good against agile bosses like gosal, ellagonas, dullahan etc
I too have a mergen, but remember the small arena, the boss almost always landed on the center. That and that you can channel your heavy hitters and run, and unload instantly triple arrow. Mergen would have an easier time that’s for sure.
Now, Hunter 3 Falconer 3 is a joy. I’ve not commited to full con exclusive support as I also find hunter falconer 2 was mighty fine to solo stuff back in rank 7. when I took the gamble by going falconer 2 and sealed my fate to being a falconer 3 I swear to god I was expecting them to add some amazing damage. They didn’t, instead they added amazing utility.
I’m sure I’ve not to explain the marvels of falconer 3. But, hunter is another story. it is a heavy single target focus. cannot damage bosses unless they’re flying with snatching. Your life will be hell until you hit c3 and can stop enemies on their tracks with growling, even then, there’s enemies scattered across the world that are completly immune to your hunter skills.
Hunter falconer 3 is a very mobile and close quarter class due to needing the pet to be close to the target. It will put you at risk but you can mitigate it with growling in most instances. It is, a fun class, it is not good at any field, it is average. but its mechanics make it very enjoyable.
And once you try it. you won’t gladly play anything else, my honest. biased opinion.
-Edit-
Also looking forward to the future defense tweak.
As a hunter I never found my place inside a party in rank 7, growling was not needed. When everything increased its HP pool to stupid levels in rank 8, combined with the initial damage they dealt when there was no 10% extra def per rank. I became useful.
When they added the % thingy per rank and people began to be hit for 1’s I became useless again. I am only able to support myself as I do not have enough defense to be hit for 1 by all enemies.
So, if enemies become a threat again I perhaps will find my place anew. ET was boring, I was not required and it takes too long to complete. If atleast I find my place in a normal play enviroment. I’ll be a happier hunter.
They’ve got to enable me to damage ground bosses and I’ll be achieving nirvana. A hunter can dream.
wont hunter be useful for nualle card farming? nualle is flying boss waiting to be snatched by your pet
Maybe. I don’t have snatching lv 15. That’s quite an insane duration. But, You’d either need transcendance 4 and every strike damage enhancer in the book (snatching itself boost snatching, so. yey)
Lethargy, the one dragoon has because snatching is a melee attack, monk stuff and transcendance 4 you’d perhaps achieve damage cap per tick. or, have a transcendance 10 hunter which I’ve yet to behold.
30 seconds x 199,999 = 5,999,970. It’d be consistant damage, combined with whatever else you’ve got you’ll be dealing damage. Still, I think there’s better things out there. Unless this is a slow & steady wins the race possibility.

Oh, and hunter stuff can be overwritten as wugushi stuff once was able to be overwritten. I’ve not had this problem often, hunters are not quite popular.
Lately I began to see a lot more hunters because some people got them around for PvP. I feel sorry for them. Hunter’s travel time is just too long, and can be increased by killing the pet. Still, it can work, it became somewhat popular, but I guess the majority. They’ll end up dissapointed.
I don’t know what to cover for you though, the [quirks] of the build and what I enjoy about it may not come across to you.
Oh and it’s only at R7 as of the current writing.
It’s my 9th alt, so the rest of what I mentioned about leveling stands, I’ve used it on my other characters that have hit R8 recently.
Can’t wait to tackle that Fal3 advancement then, all this talk of insta-death is making me excited.
I’m a hunter1>mergen and I can’t rely on snatching cause pet got interrupted by knockback which is normal for high level boss. Plus they die too fast and it’s kinda expensive to gear pet to have decent pdef/mdef/evasion.
if you want more memorable victory over fal3 adv quest, use these restraints:
-dont use any Head Costume, soul crystal, pardoner buff, squire food, priest revive
-all equipment durability is 0 except weapon
It is possible, I’ve tried it.
I died too many times that i go back to town to repair my weapon only (because even with superior royal guard top+bottom+grynas greave+ lv17 aspersion i still got 1hit KO)
Too bad you can’t fight the boss in it’s full power before pdef/mdef upgrade patch
@Composition you completely misunderstood my views on falc3 quest. It was hell but i had hell of fun and i did somewhat same as what @myself mentioned except that i had durability.
I just wanted to tell him that high con build will have too much of pain to clear the quest, but its definitely doable bcz unlike other builds, high con build wont get 1 shotted.
Anyways as for clearing the quest, died a few times to figure out the pattern, then from next time i started with hanging shot, then enter the cutscene. This enabled me to move even in cutscene starting which saved me from the very 1st hit from gosal (idk if its a bug though, too lazy to send a ticket). Then rest of the fight was patience+ hp pots.
I actually was referring to @myself when talking about the falconer 3 quest.
I had a blast reading his updates on the progress on the quest. Seemed to lose all hope at one point and then he comes and says “I’m falconer 3”
Like Neo in the matrix, all of a sudden “I know kung fu”
I did a Falconer C3 with the Quarrel 3 path.
I find him a good “support” combined with linkers, but he lacks on damage.
I want to share with you a “doable” gear set without any trascendence. You really sucks in R8 content as dps but he is still nice. I planned to pick a R9 DPS (i hope there will be any) to balance the class
i’ll share with you a sample video , made right now .
Just wait the upload xD
Here we go:
ps: i didnt used MultiShot int he video but it works well. Just witout the attributes it “onlY” hits for 35K damage so i always use Caltrops on linked enemies if possible for better damage.
I forgot to tell. Since i already gave up dmg, i’ll take it all the way and choose whatever is supportive in nature. May be pied piper or puppeteer for r9.
I wonder how hunter will play with the stat changes.
Considering we get 30% of our pet’s attack, and the addition of 300 white items and other stuff. Rush dog will be something to behold.
Unless, you know, we could be tossed into oblivion. Personally I’d take pied piper, but I don’t want to be a pied piper. I want to be a bard. Healing music and such stuff I want so bad.
If pied piper only grace is to create an enemy queue, that’s kind of redundant with hunter, could complement it, but, I find that would be too similar. Future, I want you since yesterday!
Given the attack speed mention for certain skills, I wonder if retrieve ticks would be increase thanks to dex. Also, I hope to see QS become a viable option now.
Perhaps QS falconer 3 would be turned into a nice single target bosser, but, that’s just stretching it. We’ve yet to see anything.
If you want your pet to be useful and not get knockdown as often go with High evasion boots. Evasion pretty much negates all the problems of physical attacks (dmg, knockdown, stun, etc). It’s what I have on my pet, and when magic mobs are non existant, pet just tanks bosses and other mobs for me like a champ.
Yeah I always wanted to do that but sometime the extra storage with pet made me hold that plan. I’ll give it a try tho
I wonder why i can’t convince to make someone a pure supportive archer rather than offensive ones
This is because in the end you’re still a dps class and you lack any true supportive features. You just have a few utility skills that brings the illusion of a support character.
You can’t heal, 1 supportive buff you can give to others, a few forms of debuffs that you can still use being a full fledge dps. There is literally no reason to forgo being a damage dealer like there is a wizard and/or cleric.
You’re a cop in a riot, nobody values you and in the current state of the game you’re not even important because the mob in this game can be made to dissappear instead of actually needing to keep it under control.
link please? O_O can this be done by a sap2sc1 as well?
