"A way to make iTOS use new JTOS voices?"

As the old thread is locked I had to make another one.
If anyone is still interested on the .ipf files, I’ll be updating it again if necessary for some time.

you can find the updated files on the same link as before, on this post:

Edit:
Sometimes updates break the edited voices and it is necessary to make a new one, I couldn’t find a way do it without having updates break it.
If I put the voices on their own ipf pack as suggested before they don’t work.

I’d preffer that they add a option to change the characters voice,
at least based on the language, and use the default if the voice
file does not exists, or through character creation.

Bump for great justice and visibility. I wasn’t aware of this at all, looks like it happened while I was away on break.

Thank you for this service Yuki, from all of us that have been using the Japanese language option since launch.

  • copy the downloaded sound.ipf over your sound.ipf on data folder
  • copy the downloaded 157924_001001.ipf over your 157924_001001.ipf on patch folder
  • and lastly open user.xml located at “./TreeOfSavior/release/” folder and change the line containing Language="" to Language=“Japanese”
(It is not the line with Language=“English”, it is the one with just Language="")

It is much more complex to do something like what you suggested there.

Did all that, ended up with all the buttons showing strings of “NODATA” with a bunch of number after them.

This is why you make backups of the files instead of just overwriting them.
Also, there are two sections in the user.xml that contain “language”, you’ll want to specify that it’s the second one.

It is because you did something wrong, something that is not what I told to do
you changed the game language not the voice language.

I didn’t say the line with “language"
I said the line with Language=”"
also not the one with Language="English"
quotation marks matters

I thought that I didn’t had to tell about backups, sure do backups.
@Renisa already had mentioned backups before.

also if you delete all 3 edited files the patcher downloads the correct ones for you.

Easy mistake to make!

Oh, sorry, you changed the language id and ended up showing the above text
instead of the message telling what happened.

Second this. It’s better if they just make it a game feature.

I went back and fixed it very easily after I got the error. Was posting mainly as a reminder to folks to back up files in case something goes wrong when the edit the game.

got it working. bless ya.

Continuing from:

Wut? Even newer? Are you saying they made a 3rd voice pack for jTOS?

Was it after combat system update?

Thet it should be the 31.05 ~111mb .ipf

I’ll check it really fast for sounds.

EDIT: OK, trere is a sound dir in a ~330MB .ipf dated by 15.05.2017. I’ll upload the original encrypted file. Tell me if you will have troubles with decryption,

Thank you so much it’s ok with an encrypted file I can decrypt it later.

ps. have to sleep now…

Hi sorry for late late reply my network is down for almost 2 day :frowning:
here is some progress

@atari
A newest jp voice is not in your file it is very strange don’t know why so I decide to install JTOS client to find it myself and then I found it inside patch file 152355_001001.

Here ITOS with newest jp voice (version 3 newest on j k tw tos)

here jtos version 3 voice

compare it to current one (version 2 voice base on _Yuki’s file)

it is still on testing though need more tester for other class (character with C3 is best)

Here is download link
https://goo.gl/huCdtd
I made it as an addon so after extract put it to your tos data folder like other addon
make sure a file name is correct (has a snowman in it name)
__newestjpvoicetest-v-152355_001001⛄
or just copy a snowman or other special character from other addon it should work fine.

How to change from old method (replace patch file) to new addon version file

For everyone that use Yuki’s file or other method that require you to replace a file inside tos/patch folder
pls re-verified then download either

jp voice version 2
https://goo.gl/j5KM1z
jp voice version 3
https://goo.gl/huCdtd
extract then put it inside data folder like other addons.

for everyone that never use or change ingame voice before
goto your \Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release
find a file name user.xml
open it with notepad
look for this line
<Sound TotalVolume="104" SoundVolume="77" MusicVolume="77" Language=""/>
change Language="" to Language=“Japanese” then save
extract 2 file above then put it inside data folder like other addons then it is done.

Does the “_newestjpvoicetest-v-152355001001:snowman:” include all the jp voices or just the newer ones?

Just newer one but I have version 2 voice as an addon file I can upload it if you want it too.
