A solution to the job reset problem that doesn't involve a reset

Implement a way for players to test their planned builds.

Say a room with some training dummies and an NPC that can temporarily change your current job setup while in the room only.

This way players can test for skill interactions and stuff and go forward without regretting their choice. This removes the reason why most people would want a reset in the first place, especially if available very early on.

so most players Blame the BUILDS NOT THE PLAYERS .

[/quote]Uh of course? Why would they blame themselves? :smirk:

And then some guy randomly punches him in the face. Guess that sprung from me!

well i mean… he probably didn’t punch you in the face for no reason at all… just sayin… :stuck_out_tongue:

hahahaha spot on dude.

They can release a test server like Sakray for RO where rates are increased and they can wipe to their own discretion to test things but no there should not be some magical room where you can try out classes many ranks above your own.

i honestly don’t see a reason why you can’t try it out in a specific dressing room sort of situation. I would classify this as preliminary research before picking your class path, which is something a lot of people is advocating for. Making people grind to do this is kind of silly as I would put this more as an equivalent of using a skill simulator and looking up videos.

Rather than a dressing room, what @Jintello said is more important though, a test environment is more promising

This never worked. People actually played Sakray like it was Iris/Loki/Chaos. And then when they said they were going to wipe Sakray, the community raged and QQ’d like they do on these forums and Gravity caved in. They then merged the HIGHER RATE Sakray into Iris/Loki/Chaos. This caused a lot of the players in these 3 respective servers to quit. It wasn’t fair they were told ahead of time that their accounts could be wiped yet still complained and got what they wanted?

This caused more problems then it solved, due to people such as the leader of Second Impact to bring over a GTB from Sakray in his freaking +8 Guard, he placed it in his cart then removed his cart so the GMs didn’t see the card in the server transfer. This was just one example. There was a lot more to come out of this move.

 i take back my words… Had too much faith in humanity…

Test area is a good addition and all but I hope IMC don’t listen to those idiots that whine on this issue. Like ffs in the end of the day a TP reset scroll will only make the game one dimensional where everyone plays the same freaking job to level up then resets to whatever FOTM build on end game/pvp.

That is stupid and it’ll make the game superbly boring. Can you imagine doing a dungeon with nothing but Chaplains? You don’t ask for something just for your own petty benefit(which is from your dumb mistake) when it’ll ruin the game. Period.

Game has crazy obvious flaws and is poorly described in every aspect. The skill descriptions and fan based videos are vague and outdated. There’s no way to really understand how a skill would work until you’re utilizing it. And yet based in this alone and conjecture you’re to decide what to pick your advancement on with no way to test or revert a choice. Maybe getting to Rank 7 isn’t all that crazy, but when Rank 8 releases and you need to reroll? Then rank 9?

When the counter arguments and suggestions are things like “do research”. It’s as if research is a magic button you hit and it works perfectly every time. Not only does someone need to do the research and be the first to try it out, they need to publish it somewhere where it’ll be read and seen. These are two filters that the initial “do research” already alienate. Brings us back to the very original post of how there are bad builds that require retooling all the time.

E.g of poorly described and unresearchable material. Someone find a current up to date anything on how Pandemic works. It either isn’t or requires some funky targeting or specific conditions to spread the ailments. This should be a cake walk for all the whiteknights spewing about do research
