Hello, comrades, I open this thread because I need your help with a very simple question. I’m so confused, my character is a peltasta, the so called tank in this game, before I created it, I had a look on the forum and guides and I read many people hates when a tank just taunts and stay guarding (pressing C). In all the partys I have been (Siaulai, dungeons, etc) I used taunt and hit the monsters and bosses with skills and autoattacks, like the rest of the party, and often some players said “nice tank, good job” and things like that.
But today, I have been told a pair of times “just taunt and guard, omg!” by others party members, so I don’t know what is the correct way to tank properly.
Thank you so much, and I’m sorry, because my english is not so good, but I hope this makes sense.
in my exp
there are phy atks that is better tanked using C block
and when there is too much monster in the mob ii think its better just to c block
I have never been a problem for healers, my build is not full CON, I have some DEX too, so I dodge many hits and I take always red potions, and I also have maxed all the tank attributes of peltasta C2. I am lvl 141 right now and I reach 21k HP when using taunt (because of that attribute whose name i dont remember). But I have noticed that some boss monsters don’t use skills so frequently if you use Guard in front of them while tanking (or maybe I’m wrong, I’m a noob in this game, I have been playing during less than a month and that peltast is my first character).
You shouldn’t be only holding C, if you do that then Archers will eventually take the aggro and make the whole thing a big mess.
Only block when they’re about to hit you, try to get a skill in and keep holding C during the animation of the skil, sometimes it will cut the skill animation right away and start guarding(like in Highlander’s Moulinet).
Don’t forget Pain Barrier, it’s particularly useful against the Poata, use it to get some damage in.
